Honestly I thought that the part that felt a bit rushed/vague was actually the villain, she felt like a return to (bad) form after a lot of the other villains in the films around the time Marvels came out had finally stepped it up.

I should add however that I've read the first volume... first two volumes? of Ms Marvel's comic, so I was already up to speed on Kamala's deal interpedently of the MCU.

But honestly I really appreciated it as a film because it was a tightly edited film. Despite my comments on the villain being undercooked, the fact this film was briskly paced and clocked in not only under 3 hours, but under 2? By gore it's been a while.
I checked up on the shows only a little bit as they were coming out so I had only a passing familiarity with them so I went into this show half blind and I was able to follow what was going on pretty easily. I got most of these characters and what their relationships were with each other. This isn't like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness where you NEEDED to know WandaVision, Spider-Man No Way Home, the first DS movie, the last two Avengers films, the X-Men films, What If and Agents of Shield and even the comics from the 616 continuity, or you would be so lost.

As I mentioned, I did keep up a bit with WandaVision and the other shows I mentioned but not Agents of Shield which had kept a key detail that wasn't shared in any other film or show I was watching. Thus DSITMOM was nearly impossible to follow because I wasn't following up on all these stories.

I can't say I agree with all that, I feel for the illuminati you just need to know each of them are either powerful or important characters.
