Solo was just going to let Leia die in Star Wars

He's toted so far as the cool one, but when they arrive at the Death Star and find out Leia is going to be executed he says "better her than me."

And we treat him as the good guy throughout the series.

Yeah? That's part of his character arc. He starts out as a selfish asshole who only looks out for himself and his friend and by the end he becomes selfless who gives up everything he has to help those he's come to care about. Hell he saves Luke twice and when Luke saves him in Return of the Jedi Han says that he owes LUKE one. In The Empire Strikes Back when he's about to be frozen he comforts Chewie and Leia knowing he has a good chance of dying.

As much as I dislike The Force Awakens one of his lines from that film highlight how far he has come "People are counting on us. The galaxy is counting on us."

Even before the final battle he chases off some Storm Troopers and yells at Luke and Leia to get to the Falcon so there is good in him. Han is the first character in the series to get something of a redemption arc which is why many see him as a hero.

Y'know what the problem is? 2025 is satire incarnate. The Simpsons and GTA were joking about the world we live in twenty years ago and now here we are. I didn't even blink when I read the first comment.
