Any fans of it around? Got Elite and Linear Bounded Phenogram yesterday so in the mood for the series at the moment.
Being honest while I do have the original game I haven't actually played it; my exposure to that largely comes from the (excellent) anime which I've watched multiple times, although I have fully played Steins;Gate 0 (and ironically enough bailed halfway through the anime in that case).
I think one problem the series kind of has is that while it's excellent it isn't exactly easy to sell the premise to people who aren't immediately down for the ridiculous, even by sci-fi standards. "A bunch of otaku led by a wannabe mad scientist accidentally turn their microwave into a machine that can send text messages back in time," sounds way more stupid and goofy than the story actually is. I certainly wouldn't on paper expect anything nearly as intense as pretty much the entirety of episode 23 going off that description.
Being honest I hesitated for a long time on watching it just because all I really knew of it was that it was a sequel to Chaos;Head and that Chaos;Head was considered terrible. I did eventually watch that and Robotics;Notes - not watched Chaos;Child, have the game but not made the time for it - and Robotics;Notes had its moments, not great but I don't mind it, while Chaos;Head... I really like the soundtrack?
