If you're a troper, you'll know the Dethroning Moment of Suck refers to a moment when the franchise you're a fan of jumps the shark so badly, it messes things up so horrifically, it kills the entire package for you. In this case, I figured I'd ask what your guys' Dethroning Moment of Suck for STD was? For me, hands down, it's giving the Klingons two dicks. I'm just never gonna forgive them for that. Recently I'd been open to wanting to check out DISCO, because I've seen snapshots, and it looks better, and people say Season 2 is better... but ruining one of the core species that way in a way that would make the juvenile writers on Enterprise proud is just... something I don't want to promote.

I'm not going to get into the wider discussion because... well, I don't think it sucks... but of all the reasons you could've chosen, you're going with the one that makes literally no difference to anything? That's like saying the prequels were awful because Qui-Gon's communicator was a Gillette razor - it is, but so what?

Because it makes the Jadzia/Worf relationship impossible, and did we REALLY need to know that to broaden the Klingons? If I accepted that as canon, I'd never look at Worf the same. It's stupid, puerile, and every bit the juvenile mindset that went into writing Enterprise.
