Well, yeah. T2 is not only nostalgic, but it's stronger than most movies today. Doesn't mean it should be immune to criticism. And yeah, I don't hate it. Like Chuck says over and over towards Voyager. I'm not mad. Disappointed.

Shit, if Terminator was in the public domain, all it would take is just ONE independent artist to realize the war story to fullest flower. See? But then, money fuels the world instead of art, so most people need a little investment back if they are going to work on it.

They already tried war story with Salvation and it failed. If you want to see movie based on future scenes then you can wait forever because that won't happen. That even wasn't purpose of those scenes but to give is idea about that future and in T1 it was also to understand were Kyle Reese was coming from and why he was way he was because of it. Not to set possible movie.

Because T4 was half-assed and didn't build on any ideas of the past. Again, putting Transformers into the movie because the Bayformers had hit theaters hard. Then again, that probably just pretty much proves my point, doesn't it? About how dumb the larger audiences are. Don't care about holding movies to higher standards. Terminator has been bastardized into a time travel piece, and it should not be. Hell, I could tell a better future war story than them! Chris Shields did just that on his web site.

I doubt very many people regard The Terminator as something beyond a time travel piece.

Salvation was trying to be more like a character study piece, following Worthington's character as he interacts with the franchise as we know it. He's essentially us, half machine half human.

It's pretty deep when you think about it.

Because T2 took it into that direction.

The first one was about a robot that comes from the future to kill her. That sums it up.

I personally consider the tv series Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles to be a good follow up to the first two movies. It is different in some ways, and it has its flaws, but there's actually some pretty good episodes.

As for the new movie, not really interested. Not upset by it or anything, just indifferent.

Yup, T1 wasn't that deep either.
