I think you'll be waiting some time for it to come out on tape

I'm not so sure about that. Last I heard, Turkey was still the largest source for 'The Force Awakens' bootleg VHS tapes.

My theory is when hipsters get tired of vinyl, they'll switch to VHS.

Even hipsters don't go backwards when it comes to tech.

Same, if the GF wants to go, we'll go. She's not super keen so this isn't a sure thing like previous movies. If she doesn't want to, there will be a digital rental probably eventually or even just catching it on a streaming service. Our first date was to see Rogue One, she's a fan too and I brought up the prospect of going as she hadn't and she has concerns too. Solo was fine if basic which had me a little hopeful, but if the leaks are true this is going to be hard to watch, at least as hard as TLJ. We may skip and catch Mandalorian after we watch the new season of The Expanse but we aren't getting Disney + until we are out of other big streaming shows we want to watch. I hear a lot of good bout Mandalorian, and I don't want to ruin it with yet another bad Star Wars movie fresh in my mind.

How it is possible that some one can forget movie in so huge franchise as Star Wars that even toxic fanboys have been talking about it all the time at least since teaser trailer hit.

By simply not caring about it's release. Not hard to figure out, imo.

This.

I was born in 77. I got RotJ curtains and a bedspread for Christmas of 83. I played some of the home console video games in the 90s. I was in line at my local theater when the non-special edition movies were shown in the late 90s and then the special editions and Episode 1. I read a bunch of the expanded universe novels in the late 90s and early noughties and continued watching the prequels . . . and as I was doing so, I was burning out.
I kept going though as I watched the various Clone Wars series on TV, not with much hype or care thankfully. TFA came along and I thought it was good, and I still think it's better than TLJ. And then... Rogue One rose from the garbage heap. I had enjoyed the EU stories of the Death Star plans and Rogue One did its best to piss all over those memories. After I showered myself off, Solo ASWS came out and for the first time ... I skipped a Star Wars movie and I still haven't seen it. I had read both Han Solo novel trilogies and I wasn't about to let some corporate cashgrab piss all over my memories again.

I've come to the conclusion that nobody making these new movies really gives a damn about making stories worthy of the property. They're all out for money, and I'm guessing fame too, more than making movies for the love of the Star Wars property itself.
So yeah, I don't care much about anything SWs that Disney cranks out these days because there's not much love in it. Oh it looks like love and it sounds like love, but it's more like a holograph of love rather than actual love.
I'll see The Rise of Skywalker eventually but it'll probably be January when that happens.

Seriously, if it hadn't been for the TV trailers and all of those desperate for views YouTube producers that were cranking out opinionated and speculative videos with the same official trailer footage playing ten or twelve times in the background of their twenty minute videos I would have easily forgotten the movie was coming out this weekend. There's just too much greed and not enough love and respect for me to care anymore.
