Are Survival Horrors being milked too much?

Just finished 60% of the new RE:3 remake and will continue after I do laundry but a quick question comes to mind, "Why are zombies constantly being re-used? Is the Horror gerne being milked too much for the fans to grow immune to the stories and enemies the devs throw at them?

I missed this response the first time but, "Well, it's a zombie series..."
