So, the trailer for LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special was just dropped and I have to say that I'm kinda interested in it. While the LEGO movies have never been my cup of tea they're still fun and it's easy to see why they've become so popular and with this LEGO movie it at the very least gives Disney Sequel Trilogy Trio a chance at a ending that doesn't suck.
However, what I want to talk about is how the Holiday Special is drawing attention to the fact that Star Wars does, in fact, possess time travel and can potentially change the timeline. Yes, this is a comedy that clearly isn't suppose to be taken seriously but the fact remains that Disney is drawing attention to the fact that Star Wars has time travel which is still in canon with The Clone Wars given Ahsoka's survival in Rebels.
And in regards to those about to go over that because this is a comedy that Disney won't take the idea of using it in the main continuity seriously please note how the Multiverse was introduced in DC. The Multiverse of the DC Universe was introduced in a issue of The Flash and was used mostly as a means to have crossovers and was also used just for a couple of more comedic situations in more then once.
Once you introduce Time Travel in a series you've opened up a Pandora's Box and once opened, no matter how briefly, you've started a countdown to a reboot and any sort of attention you give that idea to, no matter how much you try to play it down or make fun of it, the faster the idea of a Reboot is going to arrive.
This has happened before, it Will happen again.
But until then, I honestly want to see this LEGO movie just to see how insane it will get.
