And then, a few months later, not only was I shipping Korrasami but at the end of Season 3 Asami held Korra's hand in a scene that is now obviously meant as romantic and a few months after that Korrasami became canon.
Soon after that kids shows started having more and more LGBT characters to the point that even Disney is getting in on the act with The Owl House. So, will Raya and the Last Dragon be their next step? To be clear even if it is being considered I don't think we'll get in the film itself mainly because these two have done to much to hurt each other and will both need time to mend their relationship before I think they're both ready to be a couple.
BUT I do wonder if the film will include ship teases. Take the fight the film has been teasing at in the trailers where they fight in the snowy/Spine village. It almost looks like the two are flirting with each other with both smiling at each other, showing off their skills before starting the fight the whole thing has a very Catradora vibe to it.
Then there's the fact that Raya has kept the necklace Namaari gave her when they were kids despite the fact that they're from rival tribes, despite the fact that Raya kept it after Namaari betrayed her and has kept it for SIX Years. Sure, we still don't have full context yet but the fact that we even have this much AND that Disney has not yet done anything to discourage fans from shipping them I wonder if they will tease that there is something more going on between Raya and Namaari?
We live in a post Korrasami world were SS relationships and queer characters are steadily becoming the norm in western animation and children media so, it could happen.
