Also the same with Star Trek, which is on the small screen, but true to the "visually engaging" aspects but has the "less intellectually engaging" aspects the studio suits think it should be about.
Thus you care more about ripping apart whatever comes along and give no attention to its part in worldbuilding.

Well, it is building a new timeline, I can concede that, and like Legends, it's tied to the six movies, but that's all I'll yield on. I do think what they said about Legends is lies, and I'll always keep saying that.

Yes I think we'll agree on there not being much in the way of the movies doing worldbuilding for SW.

In today's age you can't get past people lambasting a single project that just came out without totally disregarding its position in worldbuilding.

Depends where it is in canon and how big of an investment it was.

Some would beg to differ.

Care to elaborate?
That it's always been relegated to novels, guidebooks and other works that are disposable the second that any new film or TV project is made. For example the prequels were completely incompatible with the Clone Wars implied by the Thrawn trilogy where clones could be battle ready in a day and were implied to be the enemies of the Republic.

Ultimate proof that Lucas didn't care, but the novels just worked with the changing timeline.
