Even at his worst, Londo was always a patriot - he loved wealth and power, sure, but as a noble he was raised in a system that told him privilege was his rightful place in society, and I feel like he viewed his own personal power and glory as a component of the power and glory of the Centauri as a whole. Certainly, when push came to shove, he chose his people over himself - and I think even early Londo would have believed he'd choose that, even if he was often unthinkingly selfish in ways he'd eventually (mostly) grow beyond. He was also an educated man, and I think even if the 'great' period of the Centauri Republic was that of a conquest-driven empire that was ultimately unsustainable (and immoral besides), its prestige and prosperity while it lasted was a real thing that he genuinely wanted to return to for the good of his people (with, ideally, House Mollari at the top of the heap).
I'd liken him to Cartagia if anyone, if you can imagine Cartagia's quick (albeit broken) mind congealed by old age and indolence: ignorant of the reasons he's been rewarded in his life but unwilling (or unable) to consider it could have had to do with anyone but himself, therefore assuming that what he has done - indulging his various vices, mainly - must constitute some innate genius, and continuing to do so on the basis that so far as he can tell it works. So if he wakes up one morning with the notion that nuking his own planet will make him a god, why wouldn't it?
You think the people most opposed to Trump are patriots?
Nice twisted logic you have there that if some one doesn't support President that you support they can't be patriots. You do know what patriot means right because people can be patriots without having to support those in power. In my opinion that makes them even better patriots because they love they country without being hung at political lines.

Where did say that?

A straw man argument. Trump's harshest critics have serious overlap with those who do not love the country. E.g., "No border! No wall! No USA at all!"

I see more parallels between Trump and President Clark of the Earth Alliance than with Londo Mollari. And even that is not much. At least not yet...
TBH I think the parallel there was stronger with Bush Jr., especially including and after 9/11.
What definition of patriotism involves taking jobs away from Americans? Especially given that actual production of goods is a tiny portion of the cost factor.
Also you can't really call a man with multiple bankruptcies in his wake, including a casino, somebody with "business sense".
You've made it clear that you recognize 45 as the loathsome thing that he is, so Darth, why do you keep jumping to his defense? Is it some kind of right wing bro-code or do you just like playing Devil's Advocate that much?
