It's an issue I have the more Marvel introduces more characters. Their list of superheroes is top heavy in terms of audience recognition. They know of the basics, like Captain America, Hulk, Spider Man and War Machine outside of X-Men and Fantastic Four.

And Iron Man and War Machine maybe due to the arcade games. Iron Man was at one point a B List super hero for majority of his run.

MCU is now having to dig for other superheroes. And it gets to a point where many would say 'who?'

Umm, I hate to break it to you but they always had that problem. Remember before the MCU your average person probably didn't know who black panther was, or ant man or possibly even Thor. The MCU is the reason non comic fans know most of these characters. So once they getting more obscure characters it won't fail because they aren't recognizable.

I agree. Right now MCU is basicat throwing darts (new characters) to see what sticks.

I just think when it comes to comic nerdom when a casual fan (as in haven't picked up a new comic book in years) has no idea who or what the new characters are like the Eternals or Moon knight, there might be more of a struggle.

Not sure why you’re speculating that there is an issue in recognition. It’s not like the juggernaut is only looking for the most recognized comic lines for these projects.

One comics are basically sold at a lost now, for ideas for hte movies, and two those characters aren't new they been around for a while, either they know who it is or they won't. Trying to only give attention to the most popular characters is going to harm it creativity.

One comics are basically sold at a lost now, for ideas for hte movies, and two those characters aren't new they been around for a while, either they know who it is or they won't. Trying to only give attention to the most popular characters is going to harm it creativity.

I would like to see the data on this. It's one thing for Marvel but we are also talking about DC. They don't have the sort of revenue that Marvel has. Let alone the other minor comic book labels.
