I was thinking about instead of leather you have something closer to Jedi robes but keep the breathing stuff like the mask and buttons.

I think there was something like that done in the comics.Thebestoftherest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2024 3:38 pm I was thinking about instead of leather you have something closer to Jedi robes but keep the breathing stuff like the mask and buttons.
I got nothing to say here.

To me it less on the nose but does the same job.

Why would he need a mask and buttons?Thebestoftherest wrote: ↑Tue Jan 09, 2024 3:38 pm I was thinking about instead of leather you have something closer to Jedi robes but keep the breathing stuff like the mask and buttons.

I assuming the burning still happens

Actually thinking about you could argue that Star Wars has already done the Alternate Timeline thing thanks to the Original Extended Universe. When Disney bought the series they rebooted the franchise to make it so the OEU (with the exception of the Clone Wars) never happened but it did happen, for about 20 years.stryke wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 9:40 pmIf I remember right that was in the same era as Tales in the comics where you had that red astromech near the beginning of New Hope being a jedi droid, Tag and Bink doing Rosencrantz & Guildenstern, Yoda doing Pulp Fiction dialogue with Mace Windu, or Garth Ennis doing a surprisingly good job telling the life experiences of a Storm Trooper.
So not something that should be considered as evidence of a Star Wars multiverse ala DC or Marvel, but more of a fun what if exploration used purely as a storytelling device.
They also weren't all that great from what I remember though it has been aaages. I do remember a very silly image of a redeemed Darth Vader at the end of one of them in all white armour.
While Star Wars has never done an in-universe reboot like DC has... many Many... there is a stories of Star Wars where things played out differently. Where the Empire rose to power with the aid of one of their greatest Admirals, where Han and Leia had 3 children and one of them remained on the light side. Where Luke met the love of his life and had a child with her. Where Chewie died but the others lived and when peace was achieved without the aid of Palpatine's granddaughter.
Off topic I know, but it's an interesting thought.

Who burns him? Palpatine? This literally makes no sense to me as-is.
You could argue that, but you'd have a very hard time making a convincing argument that this is what happened. That right there is called headcanon. I understand the impulse, but committing to that path will only lead to madness.Winter wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 3:06 am Actually thinking about you could argue that Star Wars has already done the Alternate Timeline thing thanks to the Original Extended Universe. You'd be better off arguing that SNW, Discovery, and Picard are an alternate timeline. At least there's in-universe precedent and supporting narrative evidence (in addition to out-of-universe reasons). It's still a mess either way.

My line of thinking he still goes Sith and realizes how bad it goes.Deledrius wrote: ↑Wed Jan 10, 2024 3:22 amWho burns him? Palpatine? This literally makes no sense to me as-is.

Oh, a redemption story for Vader. Gotcha!
