The Orville
Re: The Orville
Could they make a Galaxy Quest series? I mean where it continues the movie not the pretend show. Tim Allen is free these days. Sam Rockwell might be hard to get back. I hope the Orville would be as good as that.
Re: The Orville
I am not going to lie, I am actually looking forward to this. I mean on one hand I love Star Trek and it looks like a really good Star Trek parody. On the other hand, it's Seth MacFarlane and I really don't think he is all that funny but this show COULD work. I mean with Star Trek coming out again, this is a perfect time to do a Star Trek parody and I would watch this show BUT I would also say that it would only last two seasons at best.

Re: The Orville
I'm not the biggest fan of Seth MacFarlane. I can't think of a joke he's made that me genuinely laugh. And yet I'm cautiously optimistic about this. MacFarlane is a fan of Star Trek and well I do like the occasional zany sci-fi work so it if focuses on that rather than 'star trek but with immature sex jokes!' then I think this can be a good substitute for a galaxy quest TV show for the time being.

As long as Orville is a light hearted comedy that is also a Star Trek parody then I am all fine. I do remember an article where Seth MacFarlane stated that he wants to make Sci-fi "fun again" (or something like that) in an interview (but it's way too late for me to look it up right now). So, yeah, I am looking forward to this.

With the entertainment industry these days, maybe they expect Orville to be a big hit and want to jump on that bandwagon.Agent Vinod wrote:With Orville out why do it?Darth Wedgius wrote:They are supposedly trying:lsgreg wrote:Could they make a Galaxy Quest series? Re: The Orville
Biggest problem with that is Alan Rickman is dead and part of the charm of GQ is the ensemble nature. It'd be like making a Trek series today just set after STVI and continuing the Enterprise crew's adventures; with Nimoy, Kelly and Dothan dead there's no way it'd work.lsgreg wrote:Could they make a Galaxy Quest series? The only way it could possibly work is if it was about a hypothetical GQ:TNG cast.
