TOR as a single player game with newer graphics? Sign me up. I just don't have faith in EA to deliver.stryke wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 10:16 am My first reaction was basically something like Kirk's from ST6, "Let them die". They may not have killed a family member or blew up my ship, but dangit, they hurt me. Hurt my time, and hurt my feelings, and made me feel like a fool for ever getting invested in the first place.
Then I read KOTOR and a thought struck me. Remaster the MMO into an actual Kotor 3. That thing had such incredible stuff in there but it was drowned by all of the timewasting slop. Make the combat more interesting so it's not just hitting buttons cooldown, and drastically reduce the amount of combat needed so it doesn't get as old as it did, polish up the graphics, and you could get something incredible. I'd love to see what was going on with that Imperial Agent after I got bored by the slog.
Should BioWare Focus on Remasters for the Foreseeable Future?

How would that work, TOR has 8 class stories that while interconnected do tell their own story and reuse a lot of maps. Not to mention the various DLCs and Expansion Packs that have been released over the years which include Knights of the Eternal Throne and other stories that fans are not overly found of.Nealithi wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 5:25 pmTOR as a single player game with newer graphics? I'm all for the idea as I've never played the game because MMOs are just not my cup of tea but it seems like it would be very complicated to change from one system to another.

Map reuse is easy, you are reusing the same map. But have different destinations on the map depending on your starting class. It ends up being similar to the way Dragon Age: Origins begins. Multiple tales, one game. Replayability is high. If they set it up to do it in sequences based on who should have done what in order it makes for a very long game.Winter wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 7:00 pmHow would that work, TOR has 8 class stories that while interconnected do tell their own story and reuse a lot of maps. Hm, upgraded graphics or keep them generally the same? I would want to upgrade a lot of the character models here and there, not all them but a few.Nealithi wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 7:35 pmMap reuse is easy, you are reusing the same map. If you are remastering the game into a single player one. Then upgrading the graphics sounds par for the course.Winter wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 10:47 pmHm, upgraded graphics or keep them generally the same?
