Thrawn has had, in the existing canon, what? One novel and a recurring villain role in a couple seasons of the animated series? Maybe a couple other minor appearances (I can't recall for certain).
That's not a lot, really.

That's a difficult balance to hit for pretty much any recurring villain in a long-running series that isn't hopelessly grimdark. Making them score enough wins to make them a major threat that lives up to the hype, without killing most of your main cast.Agent Vinod wrote:I got tired of the whole almost got them routine quick. The Romulan Republic wrote:Thrawn has had, in the existing canon, what? Treat him like the EU did in that case...The Romulan Republic wrote:That's a difficult balance to hit for pretty much any recurring villain in a long-running series that isn't hopelessly grimdark. Or just let him be in the old canon.

Now that he is canon (Legends), we can't just let him be in the old canon.Agent Vinod wrote:Treat him like the EU did in that case...The Romulan Republic wrote:That's a difficult balance to hit for pretty much any recurring villain in a long-running series that isn't hopelessly grimdark. In his appearances in Legends, he almost always succeeded in his primary objective, sometimes with slightly lower numbers than he may have hoped for, sometimes with the rebels (he never referred to them as being the New Republic) managing to escape while he was taking the remainder of the objective.
We have seen something similar to this in Rebels, with Thrawn not managing to destroy all the Y-wings, but they got a few (the inverse of the scenario with the Katana fleet in the Dark Force Rising, where Thrawn got almost 200, but did lose a couple along with a Star Destroyer because of the Republic and Joruus C'boath)
He has allowed them to "get away" once in Rebels and Legends.
And his unfamiliarity with the Force has cost him a victory once in Rebels and Legends.
If anything they are staying too true to original stories, but I am looking forward to reading the second Thrawn book when it comes out. And I will be one of the millions to cheer if Grand Admiral Thrawn finally makes it onto the big screen.

Hey, if Fox studios gets bought out by Disney, maybe we can get that Predators/Star Wars crossover we all wanted!

I sure as hell do not want it. Nor that nor Disney getting bigger.lsgreg wrote:Hey, if Fox studios gets bought out by Disney, maybe we can get that Predators/Star Wars crossover we all wanted!

Another streaming service? Count me out. Maybe it'll be on Netflix abroad and I'll VPN it; I could do that for STD but the first episode didn't wow me enough to keep on. New proprietary streaming services can go rot.
We must dissent. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwqN3Ur ... l=matsku84

I'm almost surprised that they haven't done a Star Wars/Marvel crossover yet.lsgreg wrote:Hey, if Fox studios gets bought out by Disney, maybe we can get that Predators/Star Wars crossover we all wanted!
