Because all the Trek fans already bought subscriptions to watch the show two years ago. I'm one of Discovery's biggest defenders and I'm not going to watch it on TV when I already have streaming.

Hell, even if you are anti-wokeness and somehow still a Star Trek fan, then you should acknowledge it's grandfathered into the premise.

No it's not. The equality of colorlessness and racelessness is the Classic Star Trek way, up through Enterprise. In the Trek Universe all people, human and alien, are the same.

Some of the Trekers paided to see it, most watched it other ways. Plus seasons 1 and 2 are out to buy.

And the typical Discovery fan is of the "hip and cool" type: they always have to be watching that "new" show....like the rest of their social group. They don't want to be the sad one that has NOT seen "new show X", even more so if that show is So Woke.

So all that is left to watch it on CBS is the random old Channel Surfers, who might flip it on by mistake and be like "wow plum dinger a new star trekey show, shut the front door!".....and then they go an watch Press Your Luck (No Wammies!")

Um...it's 2020, Star Trek Discovery has been out for Years. Nearly anyone who wanted to see it, has. Even the old, poor and young kids(not that many kids what Trek as it's not as super cool like Star Wars).

You can buy a month of All-Access for 6 dollars and watch the entire series in three or four days.

I think the Star Trek fans who won't fork over the price of a McDonalds happy meal for 20 hours of entertainment and 2 seasons have bigger problems than their TV show costs.

You clearly don't agree so how are these Discovery fans watching it? You have stated all Star Trek fans will watch Discovery but they don't necessarily have a subscription. That's the only way your statement works. So tell me how they did it.

You've said it though. You've made an exclusive statement, that all Star Trek fans have bought into CBS All Access or watched Discovery. Well, here I am. I am a Star Trek fan, but I neither paid for CBS All Access nor watched Discovery otherwise and I am fairly certain that many others have neither. So either your statement is flat out false or I am not a Star Trek fan.

And the "It's just $6"-reasoning is none. I do have disposable income, but I still have to watch out what I actually put my money into and if I do not expect to get any sort of fun out of something, I won't even invest 1 cent. I just do not have enough money to literally throw it away. Do you? Do you buy stuff that you don't expect to bring you joy? No? Well, why don't you? It's just $x after all.

You know how silly those statements are, so why do you say them? And I am not trolling. I am pointing out, that you made an offensive statement about the fandom of the Star Trek franchise and this annoys me to the max, as I do consider Star Trek to be a central part of my formative years regarding world view and philosophy and you just discard this, which devalues my experiences for no good reason, whether you intended to do that or not.
