I'm fine with legally punitive measures being equated. But on a general social level, it's stupid to equivocate consideration across sexes without due consideration of physical power dynamics.

Yes, I miss the 1990s. Flaws aside, like the lack of LGBT representation, there were lots of great actors and fully fleshed out characters back then. Not so much now.

The problem of course is that if i do hate the next Cpt Marvel film for legitimate reasons people like you will still pull the sexism card.

Are they or am I specifically calling you sexist though? I personally feel like I've been trying to anchor it to my own take on it without really getting ahead of myself and presuming others' personal directives, though I might have gotten a bit loud at points.

One gets that vibe, though not necessarily from you, but CmdrKing and Mecha82 specifically and I find that pretty examplary for the discussions at large. You can't talk about Rey being a bad character or Captain Marvel being a shithead, without automatically creating a discussion about sexism, even though those characters being female has nothing to do with the complaint in the first place. Yes, it is that toxic and interestingly not just from those who are indeed sexists, but just as much as from the outrage-crowd of the other spectrum. One side jumps to your defense and the other side takes offense at everything.

I don't think is completely unreasonable to think that today's feminism is why they are shit characters and in the naughties or the 90s someone would have stopped the creatives before putting them out as they are. Fellow creative or a suit.

Sure. After all groping without consent is wrong no matter member of gender that is doing it to member of other gender or even member of same gender doing it. Sure they can be those that allow it but it's just common sense not to do it without knowing that.

Quality, not quantity please! And even if you've got the same quality too much and it just becomes another bit of the routine. It's like food. Have an unhealthy treat occasionally and it's something special, with no downsides. Get it all the time and it's great at first but becomes routine and nothing special, and you get fat.

Quality, not quantity please! And even if you've got the same quality too much and it just becomes another bit of the routine. It's like food. TNG would be dead on arrival today because people expect better from seaosn 1's.

i have a no fat diet, i don't try to watch all the great movies from across the world all at once.
