Okay, I may not agree with a few opinions on the Prequels but please do not call anyone who dislikes them stupid or full of themselves. As a defender of the Prequels I will admit that there are many things that I do not like, case in point, the Romance, Jar Jar Binks, Yippie and the Dialogue. I like the Prequels but most of the people I've talked to who don't enjoy them have been overall polite and understanding as to why I enjoy them.Wargriffin wrote: ↑Mon Dec 24, 2018 9:05 am You know why Clone Wars was celebrated like it was cause GL let up and let other people into the creative process instead of being the lone Baron but He still had a stake in its creative process... but the notion that GL can create anything you like post PT is considered heresy by the Fandom because they are that stupid, unforgiving, and full of themselves
I also enjoy Awakens. Sure it's pretty much just a popcorn flick that doesn't really have much in the way of originality but I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy myself when I saw it in IMax and yes, I cheered when I saw the Falcon and I found it to be really fun. Awakens is a lot like a Anniversary Special like 007's Skyfall. Big on fan severs, low on story and character.
The thing of it is, this has been the case for all 3 of the films I have seen, (I didn't see Solo) as I doubt anyone will really remember Any of the characters from Rogue One and I honestly don't think that the characters in DEST will really stand the test of time either as they have far to much in common with the Original Trilogy characters and also have the characters of the Thrawn Trilogy to be compared to.
However, I don't think anyone who enjoys these films and dislikes the Prequels are stupid and once I've shown my reasons to many of these same fans they were able to see why I didn't enjoy DEST. As I said at the start of this forum, please remain polite while discussing Last. Feel free to share your opinion on the film that's why I posted this topic but I would like to keep things civil, please.

I think Rouge One will atleast get remembered Favorably cause it told a story we never Saw but heard about though then again its an EVERYBODY DIES IN THE END
and The Two Monks I remember clearly... and actually having a Rebel agent that is ruthlessly pragmatic was great
Jyn's basically just Rey with the Numbers filed off
____
Solo was the story that didn't need to be told only to have a sequel tease at the end.

Dude is supposed to be a filmmaker who has the dream of every artist. Almost infinite money to direct and write whatever the heck he wants. But he just sits around and does not even really run his own business...Wargriffin wrote: ↑Mon Dec 24, 2018 9:05 am The problem was GL was so utterly vilified due to the PT to an unreasonable degree by the fandom.
Similar to how the PT was overhyped the Backlash was overblown
You know why Clone Wars was celebrated like it was cause GL let up and let other people into the creative process instead of being the lone Baron but He still had a stake in its creative process... but the notion that GL can create anything you like post PT is considered heresy by that chunk of the Fandom because they are that unforgiving
Remember the sudden surge of "MR Abrams THIS is how you Star wars" videos which were utterly pretentious and was basically them saying they wanted ANH 2.0
then complained they got ANH 2.0
Hell incorporating aspects from the Legend brand was the agenda during CW...Hell before the merger the talk was basically setting up the building blocks for the Thrawn Trilogy and a shout out to Kyle
Something he didn't Do during the PT process due to basically always putting himself into a terrible time crunch so he couldn't ask for help.
People have every right to question his strenghts as an artist.
I don't thinbk people demanded an ANH remake.

Well you're defining George Lucas as someone who's failing at what he's trying to do. He's a story teller, and that's say half of the craft. The other half is the production. Every bit of nuance in it is just something he decides to go with. With Michael Bay, the nuances are already woven into the fabric. He knows exactly how it's ironed out from the start. I'd say Lucas bookends ideas and manufacturing of the project.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Mon Dec 24, 2018 9:57 amThose imported stereotypes from the 40's cartoons.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Mon Dec 24, 2018 9:20 amWeighs more on the artistic side in my opinion. Re: What is Your Opinion on The Last Jedi?
Not everyone loves Clone Wars. I hate it. It's like it's in this no-man's land between being canon and not canon. Plus it just tried too hard to adapt Legends elements without remaining as faithful to them as possible, like giving Anakin an apprentice. That just destroys the very core mythos of the series going all the way back to A New Hope, the first movie that started it all, which is that when Anakin left Obi-Wan, he was but a learner, then had finished his training and "become the master." It also contradicts other Legends lore, like Matt Stover's Revenge of the Sith novel, where a common theme is that due to a combination of his human nature and unstable personality, the Jedi are growing increasingly more cautious around Anakin, which in turn feeds his own fear and fuels his anger, making him perfect prey for Palpatine to seduce with promise of power and giving him "what he wants," that he just needs to unlock it from "a certain point of view." I don't like Clone Wars and I never will. I wish it didn't exist. That right there is probably one of the biggest reasons Lucasfilm gave for declaring Legends non-canon, that it had "become a mess," even though there were levels of canon, my GOD, and they just... tossed them to the fucking side like the corporate shillouts they are.
