Not really; they fired the guy with the idea behind it after the pilot, so who knows.

Huh? Wouldn’t they just reject the pilot?

If I recall, he was just hard to work with.
I got nothing to say here.

Yeah basically. He was fired from Dead Like Me for the same reason.

Discovery's pilot was so awful that he couldn't have been all that valuable.

I'm still convinced that's why nerd media have largely stagnated: the artists who were also capable of making money have largely been replaced by people interested only in making money and not in also making art, and the public at large is uncritical enough to continue to pay for the garbage that is produced as a result.

Sturgeon's Law is one thing, but standards as to what's crap and what isn't can rise and fall. They have fallen.

I liked s1 of discovery the second time around more, but I caught up on nearly all the other series between those points.

I have thought about rewatching the first two seasons to see if my opinion has changed.

Doubtful about the look of the Klingons though.

My principal issue with the Klingons in that show is that they run the dialog too fast for me to be able to read it. I can somewhat follow what they're saying in the moment, but it's jarring.
