So, one of the mains is openly gay/lesbian and they have both a African AND Asian person in the cast? The horror!

No, I mean outsiders being brought in who have zero experience with the IP. Now new fans willing to learn is another matter, but all the executives are good for nowadays is using the 'net to pass themselves off as fans when they really are not, and got hired for nepotism.

Your mockery just reveals the underlying problem with woke - SG was already diverse enough! Calls for more are pointless, and you can take that too far. We don't need a Power Rangers type rainbow of diversity.

That, and nowadays they'd call Sheppard a poster child for "toxic masculinity." With how rabidly political everything is nowadays, SG would be too closely associated with the military or law enforcement, as well as American interventionism that caused the War on Terror. SG would be unrecognizable if it came back.

And it's not like you couldn't write those elements well with the intent, but the hack writers brought aboard wouldn't be able to. I mean, look at Ceret and Terec from the HR. They were literally created just to be able to get trending on social media for some LGBT holiday. That's not subtle at all. How about Geode? That's as kooky as anything in SWL, only the old EU would have realized it far, far better.

Now if they went the BSG route with a reboot, fine, cool. That could work. I know some older fans were really disappointed it went to a reboot, but I don't mind that, I love both. However, it is entirely possible they will go the ST route and try a stripped-down continuation of the original.

And we're a close-knit community. It's not like SG has ever had a history of activism. That was never their goal. The numbers would tank. Badly. And IMO, SGU kinda bears this out.

They did have one episode in Atlantis where they had a all female SG team. I think it was done OK though it was confined to the main cast having to be the heroes.
I got nothing to say here.

If Disney bought Warner, we finally might get a great Mega-Crossover, that I personally would love to see:
A MCU/DCEU/Stargate-Crossover. That would be epic - after all, Black Widow did something very Sam Cartery in the first Avengers Movie, when she closed the Wormhole, the Chitauri came through. Granted: Sam wouldn't have needed the help of Eric Dingsbums, but would've figured that out by herself.

I'd watch "woke Stargate", if that means, we get good, interesting and funny stories back again.

I wasn't really a fan of it. While it's a bit less heavy-handed than usual, it's still honestly cringe. I mean, Major Teldy implies men are too stupid to be part of her team. And it's been a while since I saw it, but wasn't there a scene where she's ripped up by Michael's hybrids, and then somehow is alive and well? It's almost like they didn't want to kill off a single female soldier, when come on, one HAS to die to show it's serious.

Seeing what you post about, no doubt you thought it was a cringey episode.

It's just one episode out hundreds in the franchise. Besides, that comment made by one of the female soldiers is a typical comment you hear across the board in many genres. Men are stupid, women rule.
I got nothing to say here.

Yeah, and I'm not a fan of either. It's also not terribly impressive as an attempted zombie story. And the impact on the series is rather small, even for a standalone episode.
