Calling an Asian girl a dumb jungle retard with autism? That bothers me because it's precisely the kind of guy who votes for someone who mocks a disabled reporter.

I’m not really sure what your point is, as your comment does not actually address what I said. The best I can get from this is that you are proud to be a “My Opinion is the Only Right One” type of fan. If you are not that type of fan, then my post wasn’t about you or any of your opinions.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Sat Oct 13, 2018 8:24 amIf somone says in 2012 November that National Review will write Star Wars was drafted into the culture wars i just walk away laughing.Meushell wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 5:12 pmI’m not really a fan of TLJ, but even I’m tired of the complaints about the movie. That, and it happens every time something new Star Wars comes out.Rocketboy1313 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 07, 2018 3:43 amHonestly, the amount of bitching is just baffling to me.unknownsample wrote: ↑Sat Oct 06, 2018 11:23 pmBlimey someone on here likes the new trilogy?Rocketboy1313 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 06, 2018 3:17 pm I like the new Trilogy and dislike the "Star Wars Story" stuff.
This looks like it will work, because it is about an original character, but contains the trappings of the franchise that have been shown to be popular.
It is also not about a planet destroying super weapon.
At a certain point I have to assume what marks someone as a "fan" of Star Wars is their capacity to complain about Star Wars.
I've seen 7 and 8 twice each, and liked them each time. People seem to dislike things that I like in the movies, so whenever somebody tells me, "This thing was so bad..." I have just started to tune them out.
There is a never ending font of genre fiction in the world now I have no idea how anybody has time to hate anything for more than a few minutes.
Disney choose to do this.

Am i supposed to ignore Finn discovering social class on the casino planet?Yukaphile wrote: ↑Sun Oct 14, 2018 7:43 am I don't think the backlash has anything to do with "SJW politics" except to extreme right-wing idiots. For me personally, having never seen the movie, I hate what they did to Luke more. That has nothing to do with politics. Luke is the man who saw good in Vader. He redeemed him. He was hopeful and wise. And in Legends he formed his own Jedi Order that went through trials all their own. In Last Jedi, he's a bitter old man that's that way because of his own mistakes (trying to murder your own unarmed nephew in your sleep, really?! That's... quintessentially Sith-ish!) and is just... a complete betrayal of the character. That has nothing to do with politics unless you wanna contend they were deliberately trying to destroy Luke through character assassination, which still doesn't point to them wanting to piss off the right. It's just more cynical storytelling, which our airwaves are just saturated with.
I posted about fans getting rude with each other. You quoted me, and talked about Disney. How else am I supposed to interpret that? It certainly comes off as, “Well, this is how is it.” Otherwise, why are you replying to me about Disney? Why are you now replying to me about Disney vs. Lucas when that has nothing to do with what I said in the first place.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Sun Oct 14, 2018 7:34 am Where did i say zspeak fro all fans?
Lucas was incompetent but people were more or less fine with the video games that came out before Disney. It's not true that everything coming out of SW gets TLJ l;evel long term backlash.
