I absolutely love all the batshit ideas for GOT spin offs up to and including "The Gods of the Seven kicking ass."

Unsurprisingly, only DUNK AND EGG and HOUSE OF THE DRAGON have a snowballs chance in hell of being made aside from SNOW and that's because George R.R. Martin wrote both while Kit Harrington is pitching the latter hard.

They probably did.

How many would give them another big budget series like GoT again after Season 8 debacle?

HBO wanted the series to keep going as long as it could. So did the cast and the audience would have too if it was planned out and not intentionally dragged out.

The DD didn't. Fatigue, losing interest, lsck of ability or whatever it may have been. There should have been a serious conversation between DD and HBO for them to be replaced at season 5.

CharlesPhipps gives us great insight in what was going on. No wonder why Season 7 and 8 were so rushed.

But it also doesn't explain quality of writing went down too. Like Tyrion. Brilliantly written and performed. All due to Martin. No source of dialogue to draw on and he isn't remotely as good as he once was.
I got nothing to say here.

True, it doesn't help that one of them at least worked in X men origins: Woverine.

They decided to take Tyrion's character off in a completely different direction than Martin did after season 4/book 3, so they ran out of source material there long before they did for everything else.

Speaking as a fantasy writer, the issue was also their tweaks to the characters biting them in the ass as the later seasons happen. Daenerys and Tyrion both had some of their rougher edges smoothed out. They were both popular characters, so it's a good idea to keep them likable? Right?

Except for the fact that Book Daenerys is an objectively SHITTY ruler that eventually takes the lesson that she should just execute everyone who pisses her off. We get the sense that, in fact, she would not be a good ruler of Westeros and is a great warrior but needs to be pointed at stuff that needs burning because she's only good at that.

She also starts hallucinating Viserys, which implies that in fact she's got hereditary madness that is starting to kick in.

Tyrion goes into a mental breakdown where he embraces misogyny and decides to find his "wife." He does some truly horrible things and needs Penny as well as Jorah to get his brain back into a good place from, you know, MURDERING HIS FATHER AND LOVER BOTH.

The former is kind of necessary to set up any kind of Jon Snow/Daenerys confrontation.

The latter is just so Tyrion isn't suddenly the comic relief and moral center. Which he's never been. He's been better than everyone else but his entertaining element is the fact Tyrion would be the villain in any other series but everyone is just such a sadistic bastard that he isn't.

Like Loki.
