It used to be a neutral term then it became a very toxic and frankly scary community. Mostly after the Tim Horton's massacre.

Incel means involuntarily celibate. It doesn't say why. Making up your own definitions is fine, but you should be clear that its your definition and not necessarily what other people mean.

That did not include toxic behavior that I could see and gave no evidence as to how applicable it was. No real statistics, as far as I could tell.CharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 6:27 amHere's a good article on the atlantic that discusses non-social anxiety reasons. It also lists some other reasons.Darth Wedgius wrote: ↑Fri Aug 09, 2019 5:10 amI was asking for evidence that "toxic behaviors" were the "real" reason.

Nazi means Nation Socialist. Yet I hardly see anyone going around calling patriots who like social welfare Nazis.

Pretty much. Whatever its original meaning, it’s been carrying the stigma thanks to those like the one who posted a live Facebook video manifesto claiming he was worth a woman’s time before preceding to perform a killing spree.

And throwing a lot of people into the same category as a despicable human being, because they happen to have a shared trait (in this case being an incel) is the right course of action since ... ? I mean, Hitler loved dogs, thus everyone who loves dogs... Right?

That’s just the way it goes. You can either be the guy that doesn’t have the best of luck with the ladies yet doesn’t gripe about it like any sensible adult, or you could be part of a group that believes it’s all a conspiracy created by bitches and dude bros to make your life miserable.
For a very long time I didn’t have much luck in dating, often only being seen as “just a friend” by so many female friends, but I never got myself worked up about it. I remained patient and took on the attitude of “if it happens, it happens”, and eventually found a connection with someone after over a decade of being single.

It has always been a derogatory term insinuating backwards minded people.
Anyways involuntary celibate and nerdom are practically synonymous as far as the formal definition of the word.
A world on fire.

Fair point, and the People's Democratic Republic of North Korea... isn't.
I guess I should say that Yuka's definition is just Yuka's definition, and leave it at that.
