I mean total planetary genocide is sort of the Empire's thing. The Impergium may do it much-much more often but the Empire does it with style.hammerofglass wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 4:43 pm The Empire nuking a planet with flocks of bombers that darken the sky and sending in an army of terminators to finish off survivors seems like something from a different and much darker franchise. Very cool visual though.
Geonosis
Alderaan
Jedha (they kind of botched that one)
Hosnian Prime (we're counting the First Order even if it's more like a tribute band)
Now Mandalore

It's usually either off-screen or a clean little laser blast with no planet after is my point. Keeping it G rated. This was like a Future War clip from a Terminator movie.

Random aside but Disney is finally getting its money worth out of Star Wars and it's hilariously in its TV shows.

Yeah pretty much. Always has been. We just never saw it before aside from AlderannCharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 7:43 amI mean total planetary genocide is sort of the Empire's thing. I think it's a nice character touch that Din is trying just a liiittle too hard to be nice to droids. Really captures that overcorrection stage when you realize you're the asshole.

Aside from Spider-Man that's pretty much what every studio has to do now.CharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Thu Jan 27, 2022 5:02 pm Random aside but Disney is finally getting its money worth out of Star Wars and it's hilariously in its TV shows.

Re: Book of Boba Fett Thread
Just having seen the most recent episode (episode 6), I'm fairly excited about the direction they're taking. To me, it is taking a direction of essentially fixing some of the stuff from the sequel trilogy - not in the sense that they're going to somehow change or retcon what happened in those films, but that they're developing the background to some of the events in those films in a way that makes sense and ties them much more seamlessly to the original trilogy. I could write a lot more about this, but in the interests of avoiding spoilers I'll leave it at that for now.
