Solo: A Star Wars Story
Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story
It's too bad he didn't go with the Zahn version of the Clone Wars then, because that sounded way better than what we ended up getting.

Attack of The Clones is the best action movie ever made.

Yes and ignoring the frankly poor fan theories around Rey was a very good on Johnson's part, anyway not going to turn this into a TLJ thread suffice to say I would really recommend reading the twitter thread I linked to upthread. As for Solo my friend who was not a fan of TLJ said that he really liked the film as did I, we both thought it was an enjoyable heist film and a lot better than either of us expected.TLJ has Rey dealing with her actual parentage and has Luke in similar role to Cade: avoiding his role because he was tempted once in the past (and has to be nagged back into it by a ghost)

While it has it's issues I do think the action in the movie is actually top notch. The chase scene at the start of the movie, Obi-Wan vs. Jango, the Slave 1 space fight, (which is a personal favorite of mine), the factory fight and the whole battle of Geonosis. While the lightsaber duel at the end is pretty tamed I did enjoy how it was more about tension then action for that bit.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Wed May 30, 2018 7:08 pmThis is a joke, right?MithrandirOlorin wrote: ↑Wed May 30, 2018 2:35 pm Attack of The Clones is the best action movie ever made.
Admittedly Yoda bouncing around like Kermit the Frog detracted from the whole experience but I've seen worse. Again AotC has it's issues, but as for the action I felt it really delivered.

The battle scenes of something like Seediq Bale are way better than whatever happens in Geonosis or any korean historical blockbuster.
I do not mean to be rude for real, but how many action and action/adventure movies have you watched?
Re: Solo: A Star Wars Story
A LOT! I own Die Hard, The Marvel Cinematic Universe, the original Spider-Man trilogy (which tbh I like but I find them to be just as flawed as the Prequels), Deadpool, The X-Men films, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Wonder Woman, let's save time and just say that I've seen most of the Superhero movies released over the last two decades, The Princess Bride, (yes that is a action movie as well as a romance), The Last Naruto Movie and Avatar: The Legend of Aang/Korra.Slash Gallagher wrote: ↑Thu May 31, 2018 7:58 am

Also, I didn't say that the action in AotC was better then Raid 2 or John Wick. I'm sure I didn't imply that. All I said was I really liked the action and that it was fun. For me, as long as its' cool to look at, I can follow what's happening and it goes as a fast enough pace (not to fast not to slow) I'm entertained. Things like Batman Begins or Taken 3, where it cuts around so fast that I can't see what's happening, then I will not only be bored but annoyed as this requires no imagination or thought. Just get the camera in really close and shack it around while cutting every 1 millisecond and you have your action scene.
I can get why many didn't enjoy the action in the Prequels but as someone who grew up on watching old swashbucklers where the fighting was just as choreographed as the lightsaber duels in the Prequels, didn't bug me and I rather enjoyed. But that's just me.

About time they admitted they just hate Star Wars.

Only Rich, and he just hates Star Wars made after 1983. But he liked this for different reasons.
