It is controversial to say, but I think Discovery is a decent show overall. It has massively improved itself in Season 3 and Season 4, in my opinion - the far future is an interesting sandbox that is rife with possibilities.

To those who don't like the LCD, they are frankly the lifeblood of the franchise. The show cannot live on the Trekkies alone since this is all a number's game. Gene knew that, which is what helped lead to the rewite of the pilot. Berman especially knew that, which is how we got Trek in a variety of forms: movies, video games and even a theme park of sorts.

Maybe it's time for it to die. Maybe it's past time.

So basically, if you personally personally don't like something, then it shouldn't be allowed to exist?

I see the War on Straw has come to Canada at last.

I've watched the first three seasons of Discovery and while it isn't my favorite Trek it's not bad and doesn't deserve the hate it gets.

The central plot point of the first season is that the engine is a discount TARDIS that runs on drug and animal abuse.

Succinct.

Well, that's a new complaint.

Then it becomes interesting how much Starfleet Intelligence does deniable stuff versus the REALLY deniable stuff I suppose.

That would be true of the CIA and similar intelligence branches though. From 'lost' some supplies to rebels against forces the federation opposes. To actual assassinations. The weapon with a microtransporter and an eye piece to see through obstacles. How can we say this sniper rifle wasn't planned for S31?
