A Bajoran Orb... outside the Bajoran system... 100 years before the discovery of the wormhole? Seriously? How can you not see the blatant continuity errors?

It’s actually a side-quel to “The Trouble with Tribbles”.

If DS9 were airing today I bet Yuka would be outraged over “Crossover”, like how there were fans that felt it was a betrayal to TOS’ “Mirror, Mirror” when it aired 25 years ago...

There's a few major differences to the TNG era and today, in that the internet is around, and it's more prolific, more an integrated part of our lives. Yes, it seems STD is improving, I can concede that, but nevertheless, that doesn't justify a frankly weak foundation that fit the reboot universe more. Or different writers shoving their own interpretation into the canon. It's, as SF Debris would say, one of the problems you get with an aging franchise. And we're never gonna forget the stupid things STD does. Why should we? Most people today tend to skip Season 1 TNG when rewatching it, and with good reason.

The Orb of the Emissary was buried on Tyree for who knows how many centuries before Sisko went and dug it up. A Prophet (Sarah) went out in person long before 'Emissary'. And the wormhole's been there for 50,000 years at minimum, DS9 says so very clearly right from the outset, popping out Orbs and the occasional baby Changeling and swallowing passing poets.

Anyway getting back to the finale, I rewatched it with friends, and I did cool a little on the battle sequences given their perspective. I mean I really enjoyed Beyond, including the bit of playing Sabotage over the big battle, so I guess I just went along with the show also using pop music in the same vein, but they mentioned it really took them out of the action when Disco made its final assault on the Cube to the tune of When Will I Be Famous by Bros. I kind of see their point.

STD has been beyond fixing from the start.

It would just be a retread of everything that's already been said about it.

Yeah, I mean... I'd like to know. Maybe some are curious? Get a debate going.
