JESUS CHRIST, THAT'S WHAT STD LOOKS LIKE?! Can't they just buy the old equipment or recreate it?! Yes, it costs more, but damn it, this is just so superficial it hurts! Fucking late-stage capitalism! You know it's bad when you're losing to a cult classic sci-fi series 20 years out of date (I'm talking about DS9, of course). Can't wait till they return to the 24th century with their attempt to "recreate" the Enterprise-D bridge... very scary thought...

Thank you guys to have proven my point. There is no way to satisfy the purists.

Say farewell to Star Trek, because you will never get a show you like again. And it will all be on you.

They brought peace?

The Star Trek "expanded universe" is even more inconsistent than Star Wars... Talk about "continuity".

Comics and books are separate but when i read it it seemed okay.

There are a ton of books, you can make it fit.

I should be happy with the abomination that I was just shown? And leadership comes and goes. Next time there may be an actual fan in charge - pity you won't like it.

BTW I, and many numerous other ''purists'' would have been happy with this design on a 25th century or beyond ship. It would have been a cute throw back.

What makes you say that? I'm not a purist. I'm open to different ideas in Star Trek. Or Star Wars. I may actually like it. Or not. But I'd give it a chance. Unlike some purists and rabbid fans on this forum who are pissing in their soup before the bowl is even on the table.

 "Purists." I'm a "purist" because I'm not convinced two entirely different sets are all that similar.

Tell you what, though, both DS9 and ENT managed to bring back TOS in their own way and it looked good.
