Once a mod or admin comes in here, all those spam threads are going bye-bye. No need to bump threads.

Exactly. You should listen to Kamina Roosevelt. :D

Is there something wrong with featuring small craft fighters in Trek?

I get that Trek fans tend to be conservative in terms of the franchise, which is why you have some that complain about window HUD displays because they only want monitors as that’s “traditional”. Like fans upset when an episode features a shuttlcraft at warp, simply because they thought TNG depicting them only at impulse speeds (which I always found odd) meant shuttles couldn’t go at warp, despite the fact that we saw it in TOS.

When repair robots made more appearances in DISCO I thought it was nice we could finally depict more of that. The franchise rarely ever featured such a thing because it was typically out of their budget, unless an episode like TNG’s “The Quality of Life” was centered around the concept of repair robots. Otherwise we never see them. But of course because we saw repair robots in DISCO that “broke canon” for some fans.

I'd always assumed that that TAC fighters were a recent development. No, this feels like what I've accused them often of doing - wanting to write it more as Star Wars than Star Trek.

Give me some real alien aliens like in the Trek USS Titan books with that CGI instead.

But fix the franchise first.

It's not hard to retcon why they are not used, you can come up with something.

Would be nice to see TAS aliens like M’Ress with today’s f/x. Linus made a good addition to the rotating crew.
