Gear from missions is good enough for everything but late game. Then rep gear is king.
Re: Interested in Star Trek Online Playthroughs?
Well STO is celebrating the 10th Anniversary as well as the release of ST Picard and they are giving out ST Picard uniforms for free if you log in and a brand new ship if you participate in the Anniversary event starting on 28th. And what ship. The first Khitomer Alliance Ship. Finally after 10 years Star Trek Online got smarter than bloody WoW and realized that players are tired of the whole "now we're friends... whooops now we're mortal enemies...friends again..." old and annoying trope and they've decided to create a big Alliance of Klingons, Federation and the survivivng Romulans and they celebrate it with a ship. And not just any ship. As someone who plays the game a lot and participates in the dry Reddit build discussion and math orgies designed to maximize your endgame damage output and other mostly boring technical stuff - I can tell you - it's a good ship. It's not a "free trash" that STO gives out like candies. It's a top-tier ship that they could've charged lot's of cash for or even could've thrown it in a Lock Box. Instead they are basically giving it out for free. I've played STO for most of the 10 years it's been online and I can say I've never been more proud of it than today. Also this baby is replacing Fleet Arbiter as my Ship of Choice. And every one of my toons can fly it. From right after finishing tutorial!

Top tier? I guess, I still prefer my Gumball Machine of DOOM!!! though.
Ugly as hell? Oh god yes. I hope some skins help.

It sounds like they intend to do something permanent for him: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mF-SRuVeFI&list=PLk5gkywzcA58yQRQqSs05dJcryYJR8s2Q&index=5&t=0sCharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 11:37 pm Nog's presence throughout is something that leaves me a little misty-eyed and I have to say that I'm glad Aron Eisenberg did these before he passed on. I hope they make a memorial to the man in the game somehow like a Nog statue in-universe or something. It's kind of weird his character died in the "hypothetical" Season 8 that they talked about on the DS9 Documentary I just watched too.

I could've done without the BS Discovery crap, but everything else rocked. I loved the Iconians' usage for the very first time in the game (I hated them in their own arc because it sucked), and all the cast were fantastic. Hell, they even got the "mortal threat to all life suddenly become friends!" thing again and for the very first time did it WELL. AND they didn't see the need to provide a copout "but some of them are still bad so murdering them is OK!" tag-on.CharlesPhipps wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2019 11:37 pm I just finished STAR TREK: ONLINE'S "Gamma Quadrant" arc and I have to say it is a fully good video game in its own right and one that I would have happily purchased as a stand-alone DS9 game. It was amazing having all of the old gang back together again with Odo, Kira, Garak, Weyound, Martok, Quark, Rom, Leeta, and Doctor Bashir being enough of the cast to simulate a pretty decent series of episodes.
Nog's presence throughout is something that leaves me a little misty-eyed and I have to say that I'm glad Aron Eisenberg did these before he passed on. The Hur'q Arc was really done and I enjoyed the extended homage to Aliens. They're vicious, nasty, and brutal characters that were a worthy follow-up to the Iconians. I also feel like this is a good wrap-up for the "redemption" of the Dominion. Certainly, the Founders now actually have evidence that Solids would be willing to protect them without mind-control.
I'm 100% convinced the Female Changeling isn't dead because, really, impalement doesn't strike me as a way you can kill a liquid organism. The game seems to have the same belief. On the other hand, it is a decent way to write her out too in a grand enough fashion.
I like that she was able to tie-together so many Star Trek Online plots as well: The Tzekethi, the Hur'q, and the Feklhri. I actually like that the Fek'lhri are tied to the Dominion as while I didn't mind a "supernatural" explanation for the Klingons (who live in Fantasyland more than the Federation), it gives an out for someone who wanted to know why an army of demons suddenly attacked Kronos.
The best of the adventures was, of course, Quark's Lucky Seven and I think it's probably the best in the entire game. I felt a little cheated at the end of the adventure because if you're a Klingon PC like myself then recovering the Sword of Khaless is an EPIC adventure and having it stolen from you then sold to Martok cheapens the thing RP-ing wise. On the other hand, getting one over on a certain Iconian was well worth it.
If I had any issues at the end, I also felt that the invocation of T'Kuvma and the Beacon of Khaless was a little bit iffy. I actually LIKE Discovery and am looking forward to playing through the Discovery campaigns. However, T'Kuvma was a radical fundamentalist terrorist Klingon devoted to driving out the Federation and aliens. It's a little weird to invoke him to save the Federation and Dominion as he'd loathe what the Klingon Empire has become. Also, Martok is listed alongside Voq, T'Kuvma, and L'Rell. Frankly, Voq royally sucked at his job and if anyone should be in that list it should be your Dahar Master.
Still, badass to have Martok unite the Klingon Empire that way.
9/10 and a great faux-season of DS9.
Quark's Lucky Seven is indeed fantastic.

Thank you for the heads-up on this. How do I earn this ship? You say that it starts on the 28th, but you act like you already have it. The information in-game is confusing (as usual). I did some Borg event things, and the loading screen says that doing one earns 100% progress on the ship?tyrteg wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 12:39 am Well STO is celebrating the 10th Anniversary as well as the release of ST Picard and they are giving out ST Picard uniforms for free if you log in and a brand new ship if you participate in the Anniversary event starting on 28th. Re: Interested in Star Trek Online Playthroughs?
You do a special event (it's a mini game about Omega particles, it's really easy actually). Do it every day from the start of the event (on the 28th) and BOOM, it's yours, simple as that.
The Borg thing is something else.

Re: Interested in Star Trek Online Playthroughs?
This year they have added several more ways to earn the progress to the new ship. If I sound like I've done it before it's because every year was pretty much the same event. But since it's 10th Anniversary they decided (like with the Winter event) to add more options. Look in the event tab - Default press J then select Tab events - and you'll see which things give progress. You can only add 1 point of progress every day and you'll need 20. The Event runs for 30 days. There is a TFO (everyone on Reddit and Discord seems to love it) there are missions and like every year there is the Omega - run around the galaxy event as well. Choose whichever you prefer. Also we got Seven of Nine's Jeri Ryan and whatever the STD Michael Burnham actor is. And we are following on events from a TOS episode.Deledrius wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 12:42 am Thank you for the heads-up on this. How do I earn this ship? EDIT: Also they added Seven of Nine hair in the game. For males as well. Time to look fabulous:
