I haven't seen it yet, but I'm curious of people's views towards this film. There is currently a boycott in effect from many old schoolers, citing Kathleen Kennedy's, Rian Johnson's, and J.J Abrams insulting remarks towards fans and critics of The Last Jedi as the reason.
As for me, I'd already decided to hold off and get a balanced viewpoint from fans and critics before going. I'm also less than enthused by the writers and Donald Glover confirming that they retconned Lando to be Pansexual and that Lando's droid is a champion of droids Civil rights. It just sounds like the writers may have yet again, failed to focus on writing a good story first and foremost.

Well, I work at a movie theater, I could watch any showtime for free, but aside from the bits and pieces I saw while doing theater checks, probably not going to spend the three hours it'd take to go watch it with travel and trailers included. Movies have been getting too long. Also I haven't heard anything about him fistfighting a giant otter in this.

No otter, no sale!
From what I've heard, the reviews of this movie are: If you go in expecting something terrible, you'll be happy to find the film is surprisingly mediocre.
Which is what I expected really. After all the production troubles, then bringing in Ron Howard to fix everything and make it safe.
Outside of the actual film though what has struck me is the extreme apathy about the franchise. Normally you'd see a lot of hype about a Star Wars movie. Friends wanting to go see it, and sort out times to catch the film together. There was more enthusiasm over Deadpool 2 than Solo.
I'm reminded of Chucks review of "A night in sickbay" for Enterprise, and how the viewer numbers dropped off and never recovered. I feel the same has happened with Star Wars since the Last Jedi's fallout combined with a loss of the Star Wars movie anticipation from the rapid release of new films.

Apparently the movie is bombing hard overseas. If it underperforms domestically as well, there's is going to be a lot of finger-pointing over the next 18 months. I think time of year and the "unneeded" aspect of the movie definitely play a part in this, and you could say something about market saturation (although that hasn't been hurting Marvel this year). The big question is the effect the divided fandom might be having on box office performance, and I do think The Last Jedi and the controversy/backlash surrounding it has played a part as well. Of course, this is all assuming that the movie does indeed underperform.
Haven't seen the movie yet either, but I strongly suspect that all the talk about Lando and droid rights is much ado about nothing. Some haters are using those headlines to establish a convenient case-in-point to support the narrative that Disney doesn't care about making good stories/movies and are primarily agenda-driven. And I say that as someone who pretty much hates TLJ and has major problems with the direction the franchise has been heading.

This was something I was expecting once it was announced that there will be a new film every year ad infinitum. Star Wars films were events. We had 6 of them over the course of 25 years. Episode I, for all its failings, was a big deal. That's why it could get away with being fairly bad and still get some critical acclaim. Now I don't have any strong hatred or love for TLJ, but I think if it hadn't been part of a continuous block of yearly films it might have been better received all around. The suits can point fingers wherever they want to, but this franchise is not being helped by saturation. I doubt they are going to dial it back after Episode 9 comes out, but that would be a huge help to the franchise IMO.
I feel the same way about Solo as I did Rogue One. I will see it eventually. When my brother-in-laws were talking about Rouge One after it came out they were concerned I didn't want spoilers. I just told them not to worry about it, talk freely. I will do the same with Solo next time I see them and probably catch it when it comes to Redbox.
As far as a boycott, yeah everything gets boycotted by someone. Problem with Twitter is a few people are able to make something look way bigger than it really is. I'm pretty sure TLJ's boycott consisted of 6 people, but the tweets got shared so much (mostly by people rolling their eyes) that the news picked it up.

I want films to get longer. IN my opinion less then 2 full hours should not be considered feature length.

I haven't seen this movie yet but I was wondering, is it decent, good? I have also been seeing spoilers for this movie (and that one thing at the end) and how that could be?
