Midnight's Edge and STD's Canon Status
Midnight's Edge followed up by Doomcock (channels on Youtube most people on here seem to have heard of) has released a video with some pretty damning evidence that STD was never meant to be Prime universe and was in fact always going to be a seperate entity - it was only called Prime because the Abramsverse Experiment realised that people do not buy merchandise for the non-Prime franchise. If so, then hopefully that paves the way for this show to be discounted as true Star Trek in the future. Thoughts?

The error is in assuming that children actually buy that stuff. Their parents do. Either for their kids or for themselves. Largely the later, as far as I can tell these days.BridgeConsoleMasher wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 8:51 am What? Kids give a crap about what universe the dolls come from?

Yeah the latter... That's where the market for Star Wars dolls is?

Is merchandise selling all that well for anything these days?

I would have prefered a JJVerse series but merch buyuers do what they do.

Finally had the time to watch the video and omfg, what a convoluted fucking mess we are confronted with here. Doesn't bode well for Star Trek Galaxy either, as "Classic Star Trek", as I will begin to call the conglomerate canon that is composed of TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise and the first ten movies from here on out, is forever frozen in time and essentially dead for any foreseeable future. Geezus fucking christ.clearspira wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 8:27 am Midnight's Edge followed up by Doomcock (channels on Youtube most people on here seem to have heard of) has released a video with some pretty damning evidence that STD was never meant to be Prime universe and was in fact always going to be a seperate entity - it was only called Prime because the Abramsverse Experiment realised that people do not buy merchandise for the non-Prime franchise. What really makes me just flat out angry is, that they are just unable to call the cat a cat and flat out say, that Kelvin-, Discovery- and New Mirror Universe is just an alternate universe. I would be completely fine with that, even though that doesn't make it any more likely that I'll watch or like any of the Prime- and Kelvin-(and Discovery-)-timeline, but at least that would allow their fucking mental state to finally stop trying to so desperately pander to the old fans, while being completely unable and unwilling to tell stories that the old fans want to see at the same time. Maybe, just maybe this would allow them to tell their own fucking stories, instead of constantly trying to both rely and distance itself from the Classic Trek I loved and that is part of every fan's memories and lifes.
This whole fucking bullshit is like someone who constantly tries to snuggle up and run his fingers over all my intimate zones. I don't want that. Nobody wants that. Nobody is going to enjoy that, so just fucking stop it already. All they are achieving is, that I want to punch their face, instead of wanting me to give them money. Why is that so hard to understand for these Hollywood-molesters... Oh wait, that is exactly the only thing they do know to do, isn't it. It all makes sense now... Of course only something like this complex can come out of these twisted minds, isn't it...

And in addition, they just sat back and watched a previously united fandom tear itself apart all for their own ends. Its classic Machiavellian strats.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Fri Feb 08, 2019 10:42 amFinally had the time to watch the video and omfg, what a convoluted fucking mess we are confronted with here.
