Who Had the Worst Luck in Avatar Asami or Sokka? (Spoilers Allowed)

This is a just for fun post but between two of the most popular characters in Avatar who was the one who had the worst luck, Asami or Sokka. I mean Asami lost her entire known family, her boyfriend pretty much cheated her, she almost lost her company and has almost lost the person she loves most, Korra, several times. And, in the comics, has been nearly killed herself via three bender gang up, poison gas and crashing Airship and now has the full attention of Two of Republic City's most dangerous gangsters.
Meanwhile, Sokka lost his mother, he's mistreated by his sister on more then one occasion, his first girlfriend dies and becomes the moon, his second girlfriend is captured and thrown into a fire nation prison for a few months and is forced to abound his father to the mercy of the fire nation.
And that's not even going into how things tend to go wrong for both of them on a day to day basis with the universe itself seemingly wanting to make these two suffer as much as possible.

I mean they both lucked out and got hot girlfriends in the end, so is it really all bad?

True, but at the same time look at everything that happened to them on the way to get the awesome girlfriend. Sure both are treated with respect and are invaluable to the fight against Evil but dear Raava do things so rarely go right for them. I mean just look at each season finally for both of them. Sokka loses Yue, Asami is forced to arrest her father, Sokka basically loses his Suki has to leave his father and sees his best friend and the last hope to save the world almost die, Asami is dumped by Mako again and almost lost her company.
Things did turn around for Sokka in Fire when he finally got Suki back but he also almost died and broke his leg while Asami almost lost Korra who she didn't see for three years, during which time she realized she was in love with her but didn't tell that to her out of fear she might be rejected, lost her father, almost lost Korra
Again and was now going to have to rebuild RC just after she managed to fix it.
I think that's one of the reasons these two are so popular as they are genuinely likeable and yet the Universe seems hellbent on punishing them for no reason. So when things do Finally go right it makes those moments all the sweeter.

Reincarnation is apparently a thing in the Avatar-universe, so who says they are getting the short end of the stick for no reason?

True but to quote a certain Centauri "After a while, you would think it would be enough. 'Yes, we have had our little fun with Londo Mollari for now. Perhaps it is time to move on and find someone else to play with.'"
Even when Mako became something of a universal punching bag his luck still wasn't as bad as Asami's or even Korra's. Hell even Bolin's, aka the Sokka substitute, luck wasn't as bad as Asami's as he was just there to get a laugh and more often then not get what he wanted, though I do think he did more to earn what he got.

Working under the assumption that karma and reincarnation are a thing in Babylon 5 for a moment (which I don't think to be the case, as far as I am aware):
That same Centauri is a murderer, a schemer, a warlord. He destroyed the only hope humanity had to stop a war of extermination. He is directly responsible for the orbital bombardement of the Narn homeworld and indirectly responsible for the destruction of Centauri Prime. Twice even. Once by the hand of the Narn and Drazi and once by the hand of the Galactic Alliance and almost a third time by the hand of the Vorlons even. He's directly and indirectly responsible for the death of untold billions and the death of at least one planet (Narn). That man is literally a World Eater.
If this is the incarnation in which he pays for his accumulated bad karma, then one can barely imagine what must have happened in his lives before. Oh no, the universe didn't yet have enough fun with Londo Mollari and it certainly is not the time to move on and find someone else. The universe clearly can't move on and it's far from being finished and there are many more lives to come and time to pay the debt.

Well, Asami had to suffer through that two-timing whore Mako first, so...
IDK, I think they'd both get along great and cook up a spectacularly dangerous yet spectacularly cool machine of doom if left alone together, not play misery poker.

Wow, you're a leftist, and you use language like that? Isn't that the equivalent of dropping the N-bomb?
