What Will Happen to the X-Men Film Series After Dark Phoenix?

While we're all wondering how Mutants will become part of the MCU now that Marvel FINALLY has the rights to them, along with the Fantastic 4, what will be the fate of the Fox X-Men series. Putting aside that the continuity of this series is so badly mangled that even Deadpool commented on it a few times now, what will happened to the series that many of us have grown up with?
It's been stated that Deadpool, as we know him, will remain as he is with his R Rating intact and I think Hugh Jackman has said that he would consider returning to play Wolverine again if he was given the chance to interact with Captain America.
Say what you will about the MCU but despite having 22 films and 11 TV shows the continuity has been rather stable and easy to follow while Fox's X-men could barely keep things consistent for 5 films. I mean every Wolverine film is in it's own universe with none of them tying into the Main series or each other. Deadpool is also in it's own little reality and despite supposedly being in the same continuity the X-men Trilogy and the First Class saga have so many continuity errors between them and that was before things got all timey wimey.
So will Marvel just completely reboot the series and start fresh or will they keep all the current actors, if they want to stay, acknowledge and integrate all the events of those movies into it's universe? I mean with Spider-Man and F4 working them into the story is pretty easy as they get their powers and fame the old fashion way, by accident.
But Mutants? There have been super powered people in the MCU for over a decade now and most, if not all of them, are generally well liked by people because they helped save the world several times over. And we now know that there are friendly aliens so the idea of Mutants being mistreated in the MCU to the extent that they are in the Fox Universe seems like a bit of a stretch.
So how will Marvel handle this and can they pull it off?
