So this is a DC Animated movie by Bruce Timm et al. and has the unusual distinction of being handled as an in-universe DCAU.

Refreshing hearing new Kevin Conroy Batman after some hundreds of hours playing the Arkham games.

Is it definitely that though or is it just the animation and some of the voice actors?

Superman: Brainiac Attacks has both but doesn't fit continuity wise, and has Lex Luthor acting grossly out of character as well as having a different VA (so out-of-character I wouldn't be surprised if Clancy Brown either turned down the role or wasn't asked in the first place).

Actually it wasn't like revisiting the series as much as I expected, at least as far as story.

The fatal five were never in Justice League Unlimited, so for starters it didn't necessarily feel like a nostalgic encounter. I believe people here might remember Brainiac 5 who does show up from the future, but Kara is nowhere to be found in this movie.

Another thing I noticed last night is that Superman is flying in space without a spacesuit. So unless he just kinda figured out that he doesn't need one, then that is kind of curious.

Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman were exactly as I remember them, and they went so far as to reference other specific main characters (John the lantern and Hawkgirl were mentioned to be off in their respective bases of operation in space).

It's a standalone story, with Batman getting the edge in screen time to be the one that deals with the newcomer from the future a lot.

I haven't seen this video yet, but will now that I watched the movie:

They've done similar videos for Brainiac Attacks and Justice League Crisis on Two Earths. They're pretty neat.

So, basically, probably canon, albeit with some minor issues.

My impression is that they still kinda just want to make a movie first and not a continuation of the show, but they made at least a medium effort to fit it in even though it doesn't continue any stories or anything.

I just took as something similar to Batman and Harley Quinn, not strictly canon to the DCAU, but something that has the potential to be slotted in somewhere
