Re: She-Ra Season 2
Oh, day one of course. I admit I'm a bit perturbed that it's really a half-season, ending on what feels like a mid-season cliffhanger - ultimately that's not going to matter, when the whole show's out, but at the moment I'm wanting more because Cliffhanger! rather than wanting more just because it was so good.
That said, apart from not having the climactic finale I felt it was up to the standard of season one - built on it well, added some new wrinkles in the established characters, did some fun adventures without losing sight of the big picture that's already been put in motion. I like the balancing act they're doing with Hordak, making him intelligent and threatening, with just those tiny bits of comedy in being bemused by Entrapta that let him fit into the show as a whole, with its fairly light tone, without undercutting his dignity. Catra got the spotlight she deserves, although I feel like the real business with her will be in season 3. Scorpia continues to be adorable, and also starting to show her mettle a bit. I like how they're building up both Bow and Glimmer, although again only having effectively half a season meant there wasn't space to really move very far with them; love Bow's dads though. Adora and Swifty getting an episode was a treat I didn't realise I wanted. Being the old fan I am I can't help but adore the RPG episode the most, with Bow's narrative being right out of the 80s - and it was really something to hear For The Honour Of Love over the closing credits on that one. (Biggest flaw in the show for me continues to be 'Warriors', the new theme song - I just don't like its sound at all, technically or conceptually.)

There's not enough of it.
Of course, it's clearly made to appeal to a millennial and post-millennial audience, but for once it's made by people who actually GET that audience, so it comes off pretty well.
Like "The Dragon Prince", this is a show that deserves and needs more room to grow. Animation, characters, theme, general writing, all are there, they just need some space to breathe and time to grow.

also, I actually like the villains a bit more than the heroes. The heroes are mostly just amusing heroic archetypes, but the villains are a delicious mix of sweet and hilarious punch-clock villains, science nerds who are way too much like my friends, well-written antivillains, and a damn well-written evil overlord type. Seriously, Hordak is actually pretty damn smart, as villains go, and I like it.

I find Scorpia's massive crush on Catra so very adorable.
Re: She-Ra Season 2
I've only seen clips but to me it looks like it is trying to appeal to a new audience as well as the people who grew up with the original series such as myself.

I am glad to learn that so far Netflix She-ra has been successful and has gotten chance to get better and better. Then again it's clear that this one wasn't meant for those "grown up men" that were angry over She-ra's redesign so they outrage means nothing.

Re: She-Ra Season 2
Oh come on now. In the grand scale of nerd rage, fans of the eighties series getting pissed at a redesign is Milquetoast as frack.
And most outrage ultimately means nothing whether it is justified or not. I've been outraged at STD for three seasons and that's still going. Millions have been outraged at Call of Duty and that's still going. This is a long list with few exceptions.
Fact is that most producers don't care about what fans want as long as they can break even by the end.
Re: She-Ra Season 2
It always confuses me when someone decides they're going to do something with an old property, theoretically because the name recognition and built in fanbase would make it a safer bet than trying something new and original, except then they turn around and do their best to get rid of that built in fanbase.
