You know, there's a point where a ship's size starts to feel... impractical. Being about one FIFTH the length of the USA is WAY past that point. How do you get around that in a timely fashion?

That's nothing. This list needs to be updated. Now we got the new mothership in Resurgence, and the Starkiller Base.

Do you actually need to get around in such a ship?

I always wondered how they get from one place to one place if it would take a fast-moving car an hour to travel it.

My favorite kind of starships are Millenium Falcon size and smaller. Three-to-five-person-max type ships.

And the TARDIS, but she's in a league of her own.

that's not a space ship though. it's a facility built into a planet.

that said, you'll probably enjoy this:

40k has some of biggest ships in fiction but then again everything in 40k is bigger.

It's kinda style of 40k universe. Well at least when it comes to Imperium of Man and Forces of Chaos (two biggest factions) while every Xenos race has they own style ranging from elegant (Eldar) to living organic ships with tentacles (Tyranids). And of course Ork ships are basically made of junk that shouldn't be able to travel in space but they do because Orks make they technology work with they minds.
