After a three-year pause. This makes me whoop for joy. Might mean more Legends in the meantime. I can't wait to hear Winter's thoughts.

I do think that slower pace works better because it gives them more to to work around movies and it gives fans good breathing pace between those as well. It's clear that movie each year did more harm than good for franchise like Solo's failure (not total failure but still) proves. To keep franchise alive you don't need to bring new movie each year and Lucasfilm learned this lesson hard way.

You just need to do what the EU did for the most part just on the big screen.

Really if they made the saga movies take place with more time apart then that would probably improve the reaction to them itself. The cliffhanger treatment did not work imo.

Even the prequels worked good to that regard.

It would be essentially a different story, but what you said is just kinda self evident anyway that you're going to need a good story.

i am not sure, plenty of people caped for TLJ when it arrived.

Not just usernames and social media randos, like journalists.

Journalists/critics have a certain detachment and lens in lieu of fans. They'll base their opinions strongly on ulterior themes and originality next to overall execution of story and characters.

Anyway though yeah if you as a vested fan thinks the story sucks then like not much else is really going to enhance your opinion of it, which is completely understandable.
