How likely is a Legends reboot?
Sorry if I already made this topic, I've made so many, but anyway... my thinking is, in the next few decades, how likely do you think a Legends reboot is? See, Legends will always have a hardcore and dedicated contingent of fans to defend it, whether old-school fans or younger, newer fans, and one thing I could sadly see happening is the corporate "least effort to maximize the most profits" mindset hitting them in a flash of insight, and they just reprint all the old Legends books and comics, under a new reboot "canon," but the only difference would be streamlining the whole continuity so it feels "consistent," changing words here and there, making them more "PC" in some ways (like removing the word "jizz" ), and so on and so forth. What do you guys think? How likely is that once the rush of the new Star Wars trilogy is over and the new EU has run its course?

Re: How likely is a Legends reboot?
It all depends on how well Rise of Skywalker does. Now Rise has a number of factors working against it, not the least of which being the need to work off the rather poor foundation of The Last Jedi which pretty much wrapped up most of the major plot and character threads that were set up in The Force Awakens, not to mention the poor relationships between the fans and the series, again as a result of Last. There's also the hangover of the Solo flop of last year so Rise has to prove that was just a fluke and that the SW franchise is still doing just fine.
Also keep in mind that unlike 2015 and 2017 Rise is going up against some big names this time. In November we've got Terminator: Dark Fate, Doctor Sleep and the Highly Anticipated Frozen II. While the former 2 may not seem like that big a deal there's still a good chance that they will due to Terminator's damaged reputation DS is still a sequel to one of the most iconic horror movies ever made and is being helmed by one of the best horror directors of this age (I mean when you make Ouija: Origin of Evil into a horror classic you KNOW you got talent) and Frozen II is arguably one of most hyped sequels in Disney history.
Then factor into account that Rise ALSO has to do well in the long term, meaning it HAS to remain in the popular consciousness for LONGER then 3 years. If people start to forget about it after even 1 year, which has kinda of happened to Awakens and Rogue One as neither has left any real impact on pop culture, (I mean there are still people dressing up as Luke, Leia, Han, Mara and bloody Jar Jar for Halloween and yet I can't remember one Rey or Finn from last year).
Going back over to Frozen II, if this film does as well as most people are expecting it to then it will likely be re-released a month or two after IF Rise doesn't do well.
If all that happens I give it about 5 years or 10 years before we see the next Star Wars film and when that happens I am 99.97% certain that it will straight up De-canon everything from the Disney Era and will start making plans to adapt the original EU starting with the Thrawn Trilogy.

I can see why you are carving your own little niche in the fandom. It's damned painful trying to step outside into more pure corporate sheep-fucking mentality.

I'm just gonna stick to the pre-2015 Legends material myself. They ain't getting my money.

That's funny since Legends fandom is they own little niche compared to rest of SW fandom.

Um... did I say otherwise? That's kind of what I was implying...
