Pfft. Blonde Shorty First Officer annoys me the most. She may even be top three of my list of who is annoying of all time in Trek. Neelix and early TNG Wesley and those were regular characters.

She recognizes a good captain when she sees one.

Blonde Shorty First Officer? Yeah there is a short word for that. Bitch. And I dare anyone to challenge that.

ferris i think her name was, and she is decended from a long long line of uptight asses, as she is related to barris from trouble with tribbles.
I think this does seem just like space cases but with the pastiche being removed from it. If you actually watched the show, i did because the male lead was zack from power rangers. everything is just star trek but for kids and copyright free. feels like im describing an off brand soda. in stead of the starfleet they are the stardogs, stupid name if i ever heard one, the klingon bad guys -whos leader is played by sulu's actor are called the spung. its basicly kids off brand star trek already i wouldn't be surprised if they have like old plots from space cases episodes they wanted to use and are recycling them through this after all while tv shows will get canned all the time the scripts and ideas are saved because the company bought them /or not and will look for any attempt to work them in so they can claim them for themselves and screw the writers out of any money they are owed when they try to use the ideas for themselves, i think thats the reason we got so many episodes of ds9 and voyager that felt like tng episodes, i think they were scripts or script ideas that were in a break in case of lack of talent becomes too much and you need a script idea box.
I think this sounds like a bad idea, plus consider that they are FINDING a federation ship, the thing is if they are in the federation im willing to bet that if its found you can't just claim it as its government property, they will probably reward you for it but im guessing that if its got current tech they are going to want it back. so what is this the valiant crew crossed with space cases crossed with farscape
i have concerns about this.
also im sure thats the red squadron symbol does this mean that those arrogant twits are going to come back??

This could be a lot of fun, simply because the kids are not bound to Prime Directive, Starfleet morality, or anything else. Therefore they're free to show mistakes, which are a lot more interesting as a learning tool than Picard doing it the "right way" and us learning it's the right way because of the Picard speech at the end of the episode.
As for the odds of them finding a Federation ship... damn, how many episodes began with "the crew of the Enterprise discovers an abandoned/empty/derelict ship?" I'm not going to count, but it's gotta be at least a dozen, right? I can remember quite a few TOS episodes along those lines. They were great bottle episodes because you could just reuse starfleet sets.
I'd be super chill if it was an old Constitution class, which of course it won't be, but that'd be fun.

im just not sure how they would make this good if its just another valiant, the problem is that those people were in over their heads and were lead by a leader who was charismatic but lacked experience.
I have a theory about the valient, it was on a mission to go around the federation then it lost its crew and the captain gave waters the commission to lead them, now i agree with chuck in his review its was with either the understanding or even being told point blank to get them home as the ships in no way ready to be on deployment, but what i think happened was this, the valiant some how gets a mission to investigate a dominion war ship, this has to have been recently other wise it would be done with its shake down, which is what i think they are doing, other wise why is it this ship in mass production -we don't see it till near the end of the war, so i suspect that the valiant some how, probably a paper work error was listed as being on deployment in that area but because of something no one knew that the ships crew was all cadets still, and waters never told them he probably got other missions and they did them but since they needed radio silence he probably sent the messages via probe to command and never mentioned who he was or what was going on, so that when he did pull of this victory he would be a hero, instead he gets them all killed.
im worried that what we will see is waters if he was as good as he thinks he is, and the kind of power fantasy he probably dreams of.

In defense of this concept, I doubt these kids will be trying to take on a battleship in an over-gunned PT boat singlehanded. They're likely more adventurers, and it could be the ship has an AI that will help them with the more complicated functions of the ship.
Anyway, this being on Nickelodeon means it will be more accessible to the masses. I'll be giving it a look for sure.

im not saying we shouldn't give it a chance its just it make me think of the valiant and space cases, plus im worried because a lot of animated shows are copying each other weather art or plot construction and i hate to say it, but they aren't very good shows. so im hoping that its not another cash grab because most animated shows have been really weak cash grabs.
