Farscape

Farscape is a great show. I really enjoyed it in its first run, on rewatches, plus the SFDebris reviews posted from the Uncharted Territories. It may not have run that long, but it succeeded in creating something truly strange and alien. Unlike any N sci-fi adventure shows of the 1990s, it's one of the few that feels timeless; it's still fresh today.

So they had a Farscape panel during Comic-Con 2020 @Home... Though last year was the big 20th anniversary, and there was a little fuss about a rumoured follow-on for Farscape that Brian Henson and Rockne S. O'Bannon are working on -- while variously stated to be a movie, miniseries, or 10-13 episode "regular" show -- there hasn't really been any official word. So the panel was mainly a nice visit with the mates.

If you watch just 15 minutes out of this hour, I'd say start at about 18:48, there's some interesting insight into Farscape's "special sauce" and why Paul Goddard and Lani Tupu were always "going to 11" !

Loved Farscape. Really hard though to rewatch though. I remember Scorpius being a very deep and unique character too.

Maybe I have to be in a mood to rewatch it.

Oh, Chuck will release more Farscape reviews, but he's currently busy making other reviews that are much shorter and dealing with half the ranch animals simultaneously giving birth. A truly unique event he damned wished he had his phone recorder on.

One of my favourite tv shows... 20 years ago. Just as Red Dwarf was one of my favourite tv shows... 20 years ago.

I'm not saying it can't work, but I am saying that watching a bunch of 50-60 year olds try to rekindle what was is an uphill fight.

I don't understand that. It's one of my favorite shows to rewatch!

Man, I remember catching a few episodes at the ass-o-clock-in-the-morning Scifi Channel slot. It was wonderful. Then they finally axed it and I went out and started buying the whole thing on DVD. Got the entire first season in one go.

I caught some of it when it was first aired though at the time it was too weird for me at the time. That and I was lost as hell.

It was when I was looking for a show to binge watch around 2007ish (no cable) that I bought the DVDs. I was definitely hooked at the time.

Tried recently to watch it again. I ended up binge watching SG-1 and Atlantis.
