What if Janeway had the Spore drive from the Glenn/Discovery?

Logical theory: she'd be God-Emperess of the Milky Way within four years. She wouldn't even need to send Jean-Luc to Romulus in a torpedo!

But how would she control the spore ratio without that waterbear thing? I guess she could use either Seven or B'lanna as a living power switch connected to her comms badge.

Fry Harry Kim's brain, clone Harry Kim, fry Harry Kim's brain, clone Harry Kim.
It wouldn't solve the problem, but it'd be an amusing way to spend a week.

Cannon Captain Janeway would definitely be against using an intelligent creature as a means of using this propulsion, based on the "Equinox" two parter, so even if the technology wasn't classified, and you could just install it without building a new ship, and could cultivate the necessary spores, and find and capture an elusive and rare alien Tardigrade, and all of this comes together with no problems like with the USS Glenn, she would still not use it to get home.
Chuck's Captain Janeway on the other hand, all bets are off, I even imagen her filling a hypodermic needle of Tardigrade DNA and going "Hey Harry, think fast!"

I think there's a difference between temporarily capturing an alien lifeform and borrowing its DNA and murdering countless sentients for warp core fuel.
Then again, the front half of Discovery Season 1 had some decent moral nuance hidden in the fog of bad writing, before it spent the last half of the season taking a steaming shit on everything good about the first half.

Splice the water bear with Harry Kim, use it to evade capture in one episode, then never mention it ever again.

I am foggy about it the first season. What made the chief engineer (is that what he was) special to use the spore drive after the gigantic water bear was done?

He injected the magic DNA which fused with his DNA to make him part water buffalo.
Which is exactly how DNA works in the Star Trek universe, I have to give Discovery credit.

Well... You right.
Not sure the range though.
Still stupid. But given the OP. Yeah Janeway does it to Harry Kim. It's only logical.
