I just wanted to post this somewhere, (don't worry I don't plan to make a habit out of this) but I FINALLY finished the first season of scripts for my Tomb Raider Project. Took me much longer then I thought AND I still have a long way to before I even get the first episode done but I've got TEN rough draft scripts for Ten episodes done. This is something I've been pouring my heart and soul into for a while now and I even have someone who's going to help make concept art for me.
I'm not bragging or anything (still need to get it DONE done as these are still all rough drafts) but I'm just proud that I managed to get as many scripts done as I could. If I could ask you guys to wish me luck on the rest of the project it would mean the world to me!

Sound interesting, are you at liberty to gives details?
Re: Hey, I Finished the Scripts for my Tomb Raider Project
Basic summery is that this takes place a year or so after Shadow of the Tomb Raider. After destroying Trinity once and for all Lara learns that William Cormac, a Dictator of a small country at the edge of the world, might have found a way to locate the mythical Dragon Kingdom of the Four Dragon Kings of Chinese Mythology. Lara goes on a mission to stop Cormac from ever finding the the last piece of the puzzle and prevent him from locating the Kingdom and the power it might give him.Thebestoftherest wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 5:25 pm Sound interesting, are you at liberty to gives details?
However, what Lara was not expecting was to run into her best friend/former lover, Samantha "Sam" Nishimura who is also trying to stop Cormac from locating the Dragon's Kingdom. The story is all about Lara and Sam as they work to rebuild their relationship all while battling an Evil Dictator, a Sorceress Hell Bent on Killing Lara and a enemy from their past still haunting them.

Hmm a story where they shut up about Lara family good.
Re: Hey, I Finished the Scripts for my Tomb Raider Project
Yeah, I felt that Lara's dynamic with her father, while not bad, wasn't really all that compelling. I found her relationship with Sam, in both the first game and the comics, to be much more engaging and Sam as a character was someone I found to be much more relatable and her chemistry with Lara just made their moments so much fun to watch and write about.Thebestoftherest wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 8:35 pm Hmm a story where they shut up about Lara family good.

Re: Hey, I Finished the Scripts for my Tomb Raider Project
I also felt like did it needs to be the focus in three games?
Re: Hey, I Finished the Scripts for my Tomb Raider Project
It's only the focus for 2 games in the third reboot aka the Survivor Timeline. A Survivor is Born, the first game in this timeline, only mentions Lara's dad a few times but Lara's quest to find Yamatai is all something SHE wanted to do herself. It wasn't based on her father's research or something that he started that she is now finishing, it was something she started looking into after Sam told her the story that her grandmother told her.Thebestoftherest wrote: ↑Sun Feb 14, 2021 9:04 pm I also felt like did it needs to be the focus in three games?
Now the movie did rework it into being something that Lara's dad was looking into which is one of the many reasons I so strongly dislike that film (though Alicia Vikander did a FANTASTIC job as Lara but even a great performance can't save a poorly written character) but in just regards to the first game it was all about Lara and her mission. Her father is only mentioned as part of her back ground a few times but that's it.
Now, I will admit, that I do incorporate Lara's dad into the story but only at the start and mainly just to wrap that plot thread up once and for all so it's not looming over the rest of the series. It's taken care of in the first episode and then we move on. The Dragon Kingdom, Sam, Cormac and the Sorceress and Lara's quest in this story have NOTHING to do with Richard. Lara has laid him and her mother to rest now Lara must deal with things she has been avoiding for a while now and ask herself what comes next?
Sam is the character who is the most developed besides Lara thanks to the tie-in comics and as such it makes sense to have this story, (which I am writing as the finale of the Survivor Timeline) be about Lara and Sam reuniting and facing their demons together. This series started with the two of them it only makes sense to end it with the two of them.
