Say what you will about DA2's ending but at LEAST it only screwed itself over. Your choices from Dragon Age: Origins and Inquisition are NOT hindered by the ending of DA2. At least MOST of your companions stuck with you throughout the ending of the game instead of just leaving you to your fate. At least Anders CAN be made to see what an utter moron he is (so long as you have enough rival points with him) which is more then what I can say about the Little Blue Troll who the developers clearly expect us to agree with because if we don't they'll just destroy the board in an act of petty vengeance to get back at you for daring to refuse their amazing endings.

And at LEAST DA2 didn't break the series. If anything it helped insure that there are more stories to be told by taking the focus off the Blight and instead show that there are other threats outside of the Blight that are just as dangerous.

ME3's endings BROKE Mass Effect as a whole and BioWare is STILL paying for that almost a decade later. There would be no need for a Extended Cut of ME3's ending or to move to Andromeda or to make a game that is likely going to work to find a way to mend the damage of ME3's endings if said endings were successful which they were most certainly not.

DA didn't have to do much to win back fans after DA2, it just needed to focus on what worked, get rid of what fans didn't like and use the foundation of DA2 to make a good story which was the whole point of DA2 to begin with. DAI was a huge hit with the game even receiving game of the year award and fans are still excited for DA4. DA2 also helped to give Dragon Age more of a unique identity with a more unique visual style, introduced the sarcastic option on the dialogue wheel (which is a fan favorite dialogue option) and the DLCs aren't half bad.

Yes the ending of DA2 is frustrating but, IMO, it's never really bothered me but ME3, even after all these years, STILL gets my blood boiling. I still hate it and going through it after replaying the Legendary Edition has only made me hate it more.

As usually more power to anyone who loves ME3's ending and sees DA2's as the weaker ending I just needed to get this out of my system before I start to get REALLY obsessive over ME3's ending.
