I wonder how Doomcock/Midnight's Edge will spin this.

Ugh, that's unfortunate.

I don't. At this point I'm beyond tired of guessing how the BS merchants will spin their BS.

I know that some posters here insisted that STAR TREK: DISCOVERY was the lowest performing Star Trek of all time, ruined the franchise, and made absolutely no money.
We're now on our like third spin-off from it.

The next 6 years will be a trip:

I guess, just like in politics, in Hollywood it's perfectly possible to fail upwards.
Especially when Kurtzman's latest Paramount+ show, Clarice, was canceled after one season. I guess he should have made that show a part of NuTrek, that way it wouldn't have been canceled and it would have gotten like 20 seasons.

At least Patrick Stewart is back.'
Also, interesting:
Since then, he has produced five shows in the universe initially imagined in the 1960s by Gene Roddenberry, and all will be on Paramount+. They are “Star Trek: Discovery”; “Star Trek: Picard”; “Star Trek: Lower Decks”; “Star Trek: Prodigy,” which will debut in the fall; and “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” set for release in 2022. ViacomCBS says “Star Trek: Discovery” and “Star Trek: Picard” are among the most watched original series on Paramount+.
Also in the works are “Section 31,” starring Michelle Yeoh, and a show built around the “Starfleet Academy,” which will be aimed at a younger audience.

I am really wondering what is going with Trek lately. Getting news left and right. Animated, CGI kid show, Picard, a TOS prequel, a S31 one etc. All at the same time.
Almost feels like the brand is being diluted somehow.

I think you can fail upwards. You just need to grease the right palms and kiss the right asses.

Or do better than before where only every other movie was making returns.

You don't have to like the shows, but you can't deny that it brought in a new generation of Trek fans. Regardless of how I ultimately feel about the shows, gaining new fans is always a plus. I don't like ST09, but many fans that went onto love past Trek like DS9 is because that Abrams film introduced them to Trek.
