Okay, yeah, I know that sounds silly but this has happened enough times that I felt the need to point it out. Scorponok in Beast Wars, Tyrian Callows from RWBY and Scorpia from She-Ra and the Princesses of Power. All Scorpion people ALL loyal to their leaders.
It's honestly rather weird because one of the most iconic short stories of all time, The Scorpion and the Frog, is about showing that Scorpions are (by nature) treacherous who will turn on those they are loyal to at the first opportunity. And yet we have 3 Scorpion people who are as loyal as you can get and the only one to turn on their own did so for valid reasons and was still loyal to Catra as she didn't want her to be hurt.
So, are these the exceptions to the norm or are there more Scorpion Characters who are loyal people?

I am sorry you may have to break this down a bit more. Maybe another example that is not She Ra.
I got nothing to say here.

What's RWBY?
Re: Weird Tropes I've Noticed: The Loyal Scorpion
It's just people all independently deconstructing a very common trope with a (now) common reversal.

Scorponok had so little personality that nobody from his team noticed when he died, so loyalty may have just been out of default. Scorpia's loyalty to the Horde was explicitly a matter of indoctrination and she eventually switched sides with zero outside prompting after some character growth. I haven't seen RWBY so no comment there

Tyrian is your classic snivelling lapdog to the evil overlord and a master assassin and torturer. A complete psychopath who sees his mistress as a goddess (Which, given her immortality, magic powers, and army of monsters...) and whishes for nothing less then her plans of mass genocide to succeed, especially if he's thinning those numbers personally.

OK is there another example of this for those of us who haven't seen any of the above?
I got nothing to say here.

Can't think of any off the top of my head I just found it weird that it's shown up in 3 shows I'm familiar with is all. If you know of a show that has a Scorpion person who's loyal to those around them let me know.McAvoy wrote: ↑Sun Oct 31, 2021 3:06 amOK is there another example of this for those of us who haven't seen any of the above?
