X Men on the big screen was always like that.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote:This...this COULD be good?
On the other hand, the premise smells a bit like Darker and Edgier (TM).
Holy thread necromancy Batman!
Lead character is Cheyenne Indian girl, and I thought she was great. They actually had some decent subtext to it what not. I'd guess this would be a pretty good movie for kids. Really though wasn't bad as a franchise starter too.Fuzzy Necromancer wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 12:29 am Yeah I heard some disappointing things about the casting verses the characters in the source material. Still might be worth checking out if I can see it in a safe way.
No, it wasn't. It felt like a disjointed... well, not quite mess, but I lack a better word so I'll stick with it: a disjointed mess. There's a genuinely good movie in there, but the heart was cut out in the editing process. I repeatedly found myself wondering, if I fell asleep for a couple of seconds and as I was pretty darn tired when watching it the first time, I watched it again a day after, fresh and rested and at the exact same points, I found myself lost again. It's missing something and there are some really wierd and disconnecting cuts in there, so it feels clear that this is an editing disaster, due to whatever reason.
I'm just talking about it as a written story. It comes up short with its scaring highlights, like the happy face guys are just not working, but the character dynamics are alright and it's a cohesive story.Madner Kami wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 12:57 amNo, it wasn't.
