Trailer just dropped and it's... something, to say the least

Car chases! In the great year of 2024! That's what Trek needed!
Also, "The road not taken"! Because Tapestry didn't have car chases and people shooting generic pew pew!
Back in 2019, when the trailer for the first season of Picard dropped, I'm not gonna lie, I was genuinely interested in the series, but right now, my interest is zero. Probably gonna watch it just to laugh at it.

Season 1 was pretty good if for some reason you really wanted a Star Trek skinned version of Mass Effect. I'm probably going to watch 2 out of pure morbid curiosity.

Eh, Mass Effect had better writing, at least until the infamous final game.

All of the other announcements, I'm happy about. If this failed experiment had ended with a single season though...
I'll be very surprised if Season 2 isn't more of "hey, remember this thing you like? Watch me stab it in the face."

From the trailer, the "present day" story is set in 2024, and the Bell Riots happened in September of that year. So are they gonna bring Avery Brooks out of retirement with a truckload of cash or will Raffi replace Gabriel Bell now?

Bell Riots simply aren't going to be a thing, at best they'll pay some minor lip-service to it. Picard has nothing to do with the old Trek-timeline.

Borg is probably subverting the Bell Riots in order to prevent the killing of the one dude that leads to the city being shut down. Q is probably sending Picard back because they don't like the borg.

I mean aside from:
* Picard
* Seven of Nine
* Borg
* Data's death
* Data's desire to reproduce
* Starfleets desire to have more Datas
* The Romulans being TNG's archenemies
I'll give a pass on the Romulan supernova because that's from the reboot movies.
But seriously?

I dunno if the Bell Riots will factor in this season, but I imagine recent events in the US have influenced the writers to revisit what "Past Tense" presented.
