A Fan Theorized Change to The Last of Us Remake

I saw this idea in a video on YouTube and I thought it was interesting and wanted to talk about it.
The basic idea for this theory is that while there will be no alterations to the core game with no added scenes or levels the game will make no notable change which will be to add the Left Behind DLC into the main game instead of it being separate from the core game. This... is not a Bad idea but I have to question how it will play out because LB is good as a standalone DLC that you can play on the side but playing it as part of the main game would be tricky.
Let's look at the placement of it in the story itself. LB has two different stories, one that takes place before Ellie meets Joel and before she is beaten and the other takes place after Joel is wounded by David's men. Including this into the main game would be tricky because to include the whole thing where it starts in game could hinder the pacing of the game and be a bit odd given that the rest of the game doesn't have any moments like this.
LB has a sort of a Godfather Part 2 thing going on as the story is half flashback and while that happens a lot in The Last of Us Part 2 LB is the only time it happens in the first game so for anyone who picks it up who's never played the game before this could be a bit weird.
The other option is to have the two events take place in the game where they happen chronologically. Basically after the opening credits instead of cutting to Joel we get Ellie's and Riley's story and pick up after that's done we cut back to Joel and the story proceeds as it did in the original UNTIL Joel's injury where we see Ellie trying to save Joel.
The down side here is this that LB is now cut in half and a major part of LB is Riley's ending speech as it inter-cuts with what's happening with Ellie and Joel's story. And again, this could interfere with the game's pacing as instead of going from Sarah's death to the present day the prologue keeps going until the game finally gets to Joel and Ellie meeting up.
Plus part of LB's ending was how it ended before we saw what happened to Ellie and Riley so keeping that in mind keeping that part intact means that part of the game would just end which would be rather weird. Hell many felt it was kinda weird in the original release. While Ellie saving Joel could work just fine as it keeps the tension going and is rather fast paced the problem here is that it may drag out a little to long with how long it is before we play as Joel again.
On the whole I think it would be better to keep LB as a separate story from the rest of the game instead of trying to fit it into core game but on the flip side it would be different from the original WITHOUT actually changing the game so who knows, it could work.
Thoughts?
